1)According to spokesman Hans Van Haelemeersch ,Jetairfly may station a second plane at Ostend airport and increase the number of destinations from OST. See interview at the end of the focus tv report.

Cargo showing a slight increase . YTD figures negative ,esp.for cargo,although there seems to be an upward trend.
But,probably July 2012 monthly PAX figures will be positive in view of the latest rush for bookings to sunny destinations.

I think the peak in cargo has all to do with the London Olympics. A lot of merchandising is making it's way for a last minute delivery. You'll see some nice cargo figures for English and nearby airports this and last month.

Still positive trend indeed.
Last year they had 232000 pax. Some 35000 pax to go to reach that figure. during oct/nov/dec 2011 average was 11850 pax/month. So if they can reach 12000/month ,last year's figure can be equalled or surpassed.
I guess this will be influenced by number of incoming diversions(lots of snow over europe in dec?),nr of footballcharters,extra "bookings to the sun" on the JAF flts, ...

Another football charter, but this time in Ostend. Newcastle United FC hired this GainJet Boeing 737-300 SX-VIP to bring them to their UEFA Europa League game against Club Brugge tonight. The fans join them in two Jet2 Boeing 737s.

Denecker wins, Ostend looses.....

Ostend is loosing out on airfreight, not necessarily because of Wiloo/Denecker alone, but more because of overall European politics (EU ban list). It's a shame that an airport which is located so close to an international harbour is not utilised to its potential.
