Still just 1 report. When it comes to customer review in aviation, I would say: the lesser reviews, the better.

The holds don't always travel full full. If you take aircraft like the 330-300, you usually have some empty spots.
What better than to fill them with some transit cargo?

I told you guys: IGNORE IT.
Each time again and again, a subject is hijacked by the same member and we furiously step into it, leaving a trail of stress, disconfort and reluctance to post something on this forum.
Brussels Airlines to the Big Apple: Great ! ( as long as we don't have to get visa's for the USA according the latest security hick ups between Belgium and USA

Not a real review, but at least something:regi wrote:Still just 1 report. When it comes to customer review in aviation, I would say: the lesser reviews, the better.

But also about the first flight, I would like to read something about some later flights as the service on the first flight is always superior to the later flights, at least with many companies.

Thank you for sharing. Great review and interesting to read what was important for this passenger.MR_Boeing wrote:Not a real review, but at least something:regi wrote:Still just 1 report. When it comes to customer review in aviation, I would say: the lesser reviews, the better.

- Ticket prices at the same level as Delta and American
- One-stop (like with TAP or Aer Lingus, often cheaper)
- Top-of-the-line business class
- Economy: a bit above average
- 33 inch legg room, better than standard and IFE is state of the art
- Lack of premium-economy or semi-premium seating with extra legg room
Conclusion:
SN looks like a good, but not overpowering, choice for non-stop NYC-BRU. If you prefere semi-premium, also look at other options.

Re: brussels airlines to New York!
So guys, it is clear that SN is already taking cargo from BRU to JFK (and back I presume),but can someone give an idea of the max cargoload they can still take ON TOP of full or almost full PAX load.. on this TATL route? Could that still be some 20-25 tons in a A330-300? Also wondering whether there could be a difference in max cargo capacity between BRU-JFK and JFK-BRU? (i.e.do they need more fuel westbound than eastbound?)(jetstream?) or is it not taken into account and they just take max fuel in both directions all the time?
Thanks for clarifying.

Re: brussels airlines to New York!
SN 333's will be able to take a small 20 tons of extra cargo on the JFK route.
Nobody ever takes max fuel unless needed btw. fuelload should be around 60 tons but i haven't worked with the A330 since sabena and my company doesn't use them so i'm not 100% sure.
btw lots of space in the belly so you'll have to try very hard to get a denied due to dimensions

Re: brussels airlines to New York!
On the first SN flights to New York cargo was almost Nill. Not even more then one PMC... Something they should definately work on imho!
Re: brussels airlines to New York!
Let's think about Belgian persishables...hm...chocolates, asparagus, fish, cherishes, but the question is if there is a market for those goods which are already expensive in Belgium compared with imports.RCMike wrote:On the first SN flights to New York cargo was almost Nill. I suppose the price is +- 2 €/kg. But I do realise that there are many parameters that can change this ( packaging, long term contracts, total weight ) .
I was just brainstorming a bit. Don't bash me, I have little knowledge about air cargo. And I can imagine that there are other obstacles to devellop persihables cargo cfr import restrictions on several sorts of cheese and so on.
And beer? Aha ! Air Decrem II

On top of all the daily AA + DL + 9W + UA pax flights to NYC, also BR + SV + SQ + OZ + KE are operating multiple weekly 747F flighs on the NYC-BRU route, although most of these are only unidirectional JFK to BRU.RCMike wrote:On the first SN flights to New York cargo was almost Nill. Brussels Airlines posted a 'behind the scenes' video on youtube about the inaugural flight to NYC.

Return flight some days after the launch. Not a lot of information, but at least some nice pictures.

I'm at the LH businesslounge in JFK. Returnflight will be in C thanks to Brussels Airlines. You can expect a full review when I'm back in BRU in the next couple of days.

Re: brussels airlines to New York!
It may sound as a stupid question, but it's just to be sure:
do you need a visa for entering the US? or just that ESTA kind of thing?
thanks for the help
(btw, I've got no record, am no diplomate, won't stay longer than 90 days in the US, won't work there and for sure, am no terrorist, just toerism purposes)

Not stupid, and yes, it's the ESTA thing.
