According to a senior Indian government member, Jet Airways for example owe 220 million rupees (3.3 million) at Bangalore airport. In a statement, Jet Airways has recognized the situation while trying to reassure: "a significant portion of our assets are covered by bank guarantees."
For the last quarter of 2011, Jet Airways posted huge losses despite increased traffic particularly on domestic routes, a market where it is leading. She attributed her difficulties to rising oil prices, but also to the depreciation of the rupee, the Indian currency.

Nothing really new actually, of the 5 big(gest) Indian airlines (Air India, Kingfisher, Jet Airways, IndiGo and Spicejet), only IndiGo isn't running in financial difficulties...
