Final sale of Sabena articles Feb. 7

Post by Robin_Bamps »

Hello everybody,

Just heard on the news that there is a final sale of Sabena articles at February 7 at Brussels Airport "Hangar 8" You can also visit the 2 final Sabena A321's that are still stored @ BRU. My final chance to nail a Sabena aircraft.

My question is: Where is "hangar 8" and how can you reach it?

Regards, Robin Bamps.

This sounds like a great event :P I've never been in an A321 of Sabena before.

Is everybody invited or just ex-sabena employees ?

As I allready told in the closed topic I will be there but not for a very long time, since I have exams on monday 9th february :(

I will try to be there very early, so I don't need to wait a long time to get in the A321

On the Sabena site they refer to models...
I thought all of them had been sold on the first day of the May sale...
I know there are still expensive 1/100 330/340s + 747-300s, which were produced in a limited run... after the bankruptcy...

More info? ?

Hi guys,
I sent an E-mail to Sabenabankrupty and they told me that only some Avro models are still for sale at 75€ each and of course the bigger models at 400€ and more , and there's still another thing , you'll have to pay 5€ to get in , a real shame  everything has to be paid nowadays...

It is a real shame indeed

The ARJ 85s (1/100) used to cost +/- BEF 500 when Sabena was still flying and you could get them for a mere €10 when Trootswijk sold everything @ the Sabena House.

A classical 1/100 ARJ85 costs +/- €18-20...

Last A321 Sabena

Post by A319SSM »

Hello,

First intervention in your Forum, so it may be a duplicate one.

A colleague of mine took me a copy of the article concerning the Sales, published in 'La Dernière Heure', page 5.

Never read anything about such a problem with the engines for these planes...Am I wrong?

Thanks for your updates and have a nice WE

Philippe

I also read in a Belgian newspaper that you will be able to visit an oldtimer beside the A321's , anyone knows about which oldtimer they speak , perhaps the red-grey DC3 that I saw a couple of years ago on the military ramp of Melsbroek?

Fabke

Isn't the Sabena Oldtimers Foundation restorating a Lockheed Lodestar ?

Maybe it's that one.

 How can Sabena be able to operate planes during so long if they have such a problem .....

OO-SUA has already been parked outside of Hangar 8. Did it stay at BRU all this time? I know it still was at BRU in 2002.

Hello , can someone explain me where hangar 8 can be found , is it the big hangar where the Sobelair aircraft are parked in front of it , the SN Technics one ??? And if so how can I reach that hangar , from the main airport parking or do I need to go via Zaventem centrum , there has already been a post including a PDF-file with the location of hangar 8 but when I open the file I can't see text , only bullets with a map...

Happy spotting :D
