Possibility of geomagnetic storm WED 28/12/12

Hi there,

http://www.spaceweather.com reports a 30 to 40% chance of a geomagnetic storm on Wednesday 28/12/12 around 12:00 UT. If this would occur, what would be the impact on aviation, does anybody know?

It will be interesting as I'll be flying home around that time!

Well, not an answer to your question but I hope NONE flying QR ex-BRU on Wednesday and I hope no one will be spoiling my fun

I dont think it will cause any trouble, might cause some disturbances in HF Frequency's, also GPS might be disturbed (very small) but in general dont expect any problems for your flights.

it has an impact on aviation but pax will hardly notice anything.
some area's with a weaker earth EM field might close some flight levels and like Mirror said frequency could suffer too.
electric transmission operators have much more to fear from this
