Re: Abnormalities at BRU / ANR / LGG / CRL / OST 2011
It is due to the weather at AMS ? What's happening ?
Are there long-haul flights at BRU ?

Re: Abnormalities at BRU / ANR / LGG / CRL / OST 2011
Was due to severe fog at AMS this morning.
The only long haul that diverted to BRU was SinCargo B74F 9V-SFO.
Cheers - Gerald

Re: Abnormalities at BRU / ANR / LGG / CRL / OST 2011
What is the normal procedure for an aborted landing on RWY 25R?
XM7197 to LIN took off from 25R at 16h15. At that time FQ5609 from TFS was (expectedly) on finals for 25R. I did not have a visual overview, but I understand something caused FQ5609 to abort the landing procedure and to opt for a go-around.
I would have expected that a go-around on 25R would require a righthand turn heading for Mechelen.
However the FQ A320 was surprisingly turning to the left side overflying the airport building, crossing the 25L axis and turning back over Sterrebeek. In the meantime I expect the XM airbus may have been instructed to maintain the runway heading longer than usual.
I wanted to check the situation on http://casperflights.com/ but they no longer show the history beyond 2 hours, at least not for free.

Re: Abnormalities at BRU / ANR / LGG / CRL / OST 2011
The standard missed approach procedure for 25R is as follows:
Climb to 2000'. When passing 700' turn RIGHT onto HDG 020 to intercept and follow R-251 inbound to BUN VOR. On this radial continue climb to 3000'. No right turn before OP/OM. Report to ATC as soon as practivable.
However, ATC can of course deviate from this and instruct pilots to fly another procedure e.g. for sequencing or spacing.

Re: Abnormalities at BRU / ANR / LGG / CRL / OST 2011
Thanks sdbelgium. The HDG here was rather 200. As you indicated, the FQ A320 was possibly instructed to follow the missed approach procedure for 25L due to other interfering traffic north of 25R.sdbelgium wrote:When passing 700' turn RIGHT onto HDG 020 to intercept and follow R-251 inbound to BUN VOR. Look on flightradar24.com and zoom to Brussels.
Click on "live" right above. Select 2011-11-18 and 15:10 UTC and click on Star playback. You will see that the flight to Milan continue in the runway heading

The Alitalia is EI-IXF and the Thomas Cook is OO-TCN. Only OO-DJX north of 25R.
Re: Abnormalities at BRU / ANR / LGG / CRL / OST 2011
OO-TCN probably turned to the left because there was OO-DJX north of the airport

Indeed. There was a problem with one bleed air pressure regulation valve:-KoeKe- wrote:@ the moment problems with the SQC7973: http://planefinder.net/flight/SQC7973

Re: Abnormalities at BRU / ANR / LGG / CRL / OST 2011
Just for clarification, the issue was actually not a BLEED problem . The aircraft had a outflow valve malfunction and the remaining valve could not sustain pressurization - both in AUTO and MAN modes - effectively , hence the air turnback. The need for fuel jettison was minimal since the aircraft burned quite a lot while holding for troubleshooting.Passenger wrote:Indeed. At 13h06LT OO-DHW had a missed approach on 25R, possibly because of not being able to maintain the minimum distance with OO-DJT.

According to www.schiphol.nl AF5366 from Nantes to Amsterdam should be sitting at BRU (aircraft should be F-GRGM and ERJ135).

Monday's AT832 Casablanca-Brussels (763) had a technical problem just after take off. Aircraft returned to Casablanca and pax were switched to another 763, bringing them in Brussels with a delay of just 3 hours.
