Best BRU lounge is Oneworld :?

Post by shogan1977 »

Doesn't anyone else find it odd that the best lounge at BRU is from Oneworld (BA's)? Why is the Star offering so weak? SAS is probably the best Star offering and that's still pretty weak :?

Maybe for short/medium haul, but in general? :? I remember the lounge of Jet Airways and the Sunrise Lounge of SN (long haul) were in the top 50 of best lounges in the world and two of the best in Europe by some business magazine/organisation (altough I think the Sunrise Lounge still misses something very important: free wifi, unless there is free wifi by now, but I tought this wasn't the case).

What's your source that says the BA lounge is the best? And is this about short haul only or simply the best of all lounges in BRU?

Not confined to short-haul. Relates to my attempts as a Star Alliance Gold Member to find a decent lounge when travelling from BRU. Have never been in the Jet lounge (had forgotten about them)

I don't know every lounge in Europe, let alone the rest of the world, but my experience as a frequent traveler is that generally speaking lounges in Europe are a pale version of what you will see in most major airports in Asia and the Gulf countries. Jet Airways' lounge at BRU has a good catering offer, but the only time I stayed there, it was overcrowed and it was not really a pleasant experience. The Sunrise Lounge is probably the best BRU has to offer in the afternoon when the Africa flights have left, but it's a long walk down Terminal A. If your gate is in the 40s numbers, forget it. From what I've heard the SAS Lounge is the only once which offers free wifi, but correct me if I'm wrong. Personally, I think all lounges should supply free wifi, and actually, I would go one step further and say that all airports should offer free wifi.
In favor of quality air travel.
