Air Berlin from Brussels?
Does anyone think Air Berlin would ever consider adding a route from Brussels (to Berlin)?

Re: Air Berlin from Brussels?
What can Air Berlin add which is not yet offered (on BRU-BER) by SN and easyJet?

More competition should mean lower prices.Established02 wrote:What can Air Berlin add which is not yet offered (on BRU-BER) by SN and easyJet?

They could have challenged SN on BRU-TXL, but with the upcoming move to BER this is expectedly no longer an option.sn26567 wrote:More competition should mean lower prices.Established02 wrote:What can Air Berlin add which is not yet offered (on BRU-BER) by SN and easyJet?
What's the record of AB successfully competing head on with U2?
In terms of fares it doesn't look like AB can stand the heat of U2.

And lower prices means less profit ... so why should AB, a company which is in heavy problems at the moment and is reducing the number of routes it is operating, open such a short-haul route where already quite intense competition takes place. They are in need to find some routes where they can make real money, and they need to find them rather fast ...sn26567 wrote:More competition should mean lower prices.Established02 wrote:What can Air Berlin add which is not yet offered (on BRU-BER) by SN and easyJet?

Yes, I actually do think they have already been considering this in the past, and might well do so again. Perhaps they are considering, in tight concentration, even as I type this.shogan1977 wrote:Does anyone think Air Berlin would ever consider adding a route from Brussels (to Berlin)?

Ha,
Guess Air Berlin won't opt for BRU...
Has CRL already a Berlin connection
As 4U reducing capacity at MST, SN bring in more capacity with A319 and U2 in the same field...
guess it's just suicide..
Maybe they can start some holiday charters from BRU for TC or so..

Re: Air Berlin from Brussels?
I don't really know Air Berlin. Never flown with them, just visited their web site a few times. Given the competition which already exists on the BRU Berlin route, the only reason I could think of for Air Berlin to offer flights between Brussels and Berlin would be to feed their intercontinental flights once BER opens. Just a thought and a contribution to the debate.
In favor of quality air travel.
