Reg.request 28/9 SN2711/2722 BRU-GVA-BRU

Post by cathay belgium »

Hi,

Since CERN has made some wrong calculations/measurements this week (cfr. neutrino's/lightspeed) I decided to introduce them a bit of Einstein principles as I can't believe Mr. Albert could be wrong

Serious, going on a daytrip to CERN,Geneva next wednesday 28/9 with SN togheter with some other aviation/science fans, may I ask if someone can catch the regs of following flights for us in advance ?

28/9/2011
SN 2711 BRU-GVA ETD 06:40 - ETA 07:55 with A319
SN 2722 GVA-BRU ETD 21:10 - ETA 22:55 with A319

Hoping on a *A livery.. ( for pics - and the nice purple engines )

Thanks guys ! :P

For the time being it will be SSR & SSM.

I think on the contrary that the CERN people will show you that effectively neutrino's can travel faster than light. The experiments made between Geneva and Grand Sasso have shown it above the experimental error margin: 6 km/sec faster than light. Not much, but significant!

But this is and remains an aviation forum...

I only mention it because I am very interested in that kind of physics.

But since most aviation fans also like science, I go on.

Neutrinos have a very small mass? Therefore, according to Einstein, they should travel at a speed slightly lower than the speed of light.

If they go faster, it cannot be explained by Einstein's theory of relativity. Thus, there mus be something else. The string theory? (Not sure it is the right translation. In French "Théorie des cordes"). If it cannot be explained in 4 dimensions, the string theory provides for 9 dimensions, and the speed of neutrinos could probably be well explained by such an additional dimension.

This does not kill Einstein's relativity, which could be a subpart of a larger theory.

Any physicist in the room?

Hi SN26567/andre,

Indeed that's what I also meant, EINSTEIN can't be wrong, thus the neutrino's won't travel above the speed of light but because speed is constant, there must be something with distance !
Neutrino's must have effected distance at this speed meaning minimise distance in another dimension or so..
and this effect will be measured by a fault meaning above lightspeed. ( in dutch snaartheorie )
Same special effect as particles will choose a hole to travel between when measured and when not measered they will travel at all holes ( people know what expiriment I mean when they read this, others must read some more as it's too difficult too explain...very sorry I'm not that smart ;) )
But in any case this means science has found a key to open a door for other dimensions or the snare-theory,
now a Higgs-particle and it could be really intresting, it's like discovering America in 1492 ! or
for aviation-related forums : science could found a blue-print of a new wright flyer !

Finally something really new in physics !

Cfr. aviation, this could be the beginning of a new propulsion system : no mach 3, warp 3 hahaha
