Any chance for a new belgian company?

Post by Shanti »

Is there any chance that we will have a new belgian company in the next 5 coming years?

If we may believe the future expectations of NCB/Flanker I'm sure we can haha !
But IMHO , I won't bet a penny ! not at these economic times...

Okay, guess your right, I really do , but trying to set up a new airline ( without the big loss of current SN ) , for pax... , good luck !!
If there was a need, it was already LONG furfilled with new routes of SN,Easy and out of BRU , CRL..

But I understand what you mean, if you want to succeed you have to dare to start up something,..
Virgin ,Ryan started also this way ( but in a whole other era ! )..
Just call me realistic instead of stupid haha

Assaulting NCB ?

Where did I assault NCB ? Where ?

Just because I wanted to compare the end of Sabena and his doomsday for Brussels.. for the relaunching as SN Brussels/DAT and another new belgian company.. :?
I just wanted to set up a comparison.. NCB, never wanted to assault you ( but guess it won't mind as NCB assaulted me also before haha.. but that's just not right at this site, so my apologisies) ,
just wanted to return his -daily?- doomsday scenarios..

BeOnTop is DeadOnTop I guess, it's oh so quiet... the same with Wings over Maastricht...
just not the right time to start something new... as I already guessed ;)

Cheers!

What a weird question. Sorry to say!
Why would a small country like Belgium need another new carrier?
This at a moment that in Europe's biggest economy, Germany, the second biggest airline (Air Berlin) is struggling to survive!
What is the purpose of this post?

hi all,

There are some talks going on about a new start-up!! it is not sure yet if the company will be based in Belgium but it will be funded with Belgian investors!

Let's agree to give some more news on the status on a weekly base!

More news to come shortly and spread the talks!!

Hi,

Hmmm.. I hope it's not another BeOnTop IMO !
But I won't bet on it.. ( altough you can win a lot if I'm wrong )

A new start up LGG again ? Ostend ? Pax ??
More news weekly ?
Spread the talks/rumours of a new start up belgian airline.. guess there was enough spreaded for this year already !
But I'm way too pessimistic.. nevertheless whishing the (all of these ) project(s) a lot of success and hoping on flying it once...

The beer is cold, the chips are here, getting set for BeOnTop part 2 , where Jambers explains that Liege was not a good idea in the first place, but that they really want to start as an Belgium airline in another country......wow!

Belgium has no aviation culture? Ask the founders of VLM, B-Cargo, TEA, SN Brussels Airlines, Virgin Express, CityBird, etc., and even TNT Airways which is registered in Belgium and DHL which was also registered in Belgium.

They all had a project for Belgium and believed in it. Not everyone could succeed, but Belgium was definitely on the map of world aviation. Don't forfet that Sabena was one of the very first airlines in the world.

So yes, indeed, many Belgians believe in aviation and have an aviation culture.

Yes, there were and are many individuals who believed in aviation in its various forms. And yet only a very few knew success, especially after WW2 (before, there even were designers like Tips, Renard, De Monge, Stampe & Vertongen).
Most new initiatives were killed off mercilessly by the Belgian anti-aviation spirit. I regret having to concede this anti-aviation spirit is most pronounced in Flanders. There is much more enthusiasm for aviation, and more tolerance for its unavoidable nuisances, in bigger countries like France, England, Germany. I suppose small densely populated countries like ours prefer backgardens (with private swimming pools!) over aerodromes.

Some further info that can be released...

Good news was received as for the lease of the aircraft!!

If there is any help possible via this forum to find some staff that would be great!!! Ideal would be with some experience in aviation of course... following positions would still need to be filled:

- cabin crew
- Commercial / Sales Manager
- Operations Dept Manager

To be continued!!
