GO LUCHTZAK

But wasn't it written in the stars wasn't it when the lease-dates comes near their end ;)..

They did their job,now something more up-to-date ( altough I liked their seats - 300/400 series are really classic ones 8-) )

They are almost end of lease...
It has nothing to do with the age but with the end of lease.
They will replace a part of the end of leases with A319/A320.
I suppose other A320 will be for next summer?

They are also looking for a turboprop because it uses less fuel.
They will reduce temporarily the medium haul fleet this winter.
I think they are suffering very hard from the high fuel prices.

Airbuske

Yes I suppose they really suffer these high fuel prices. Their short haul fleet exists of 8 B737 Classic's and more than 20 Avro's. These are quit fuel consuming and they count for half the fleet...

Any update on the arrival of the 2 additional A319's ?
On 02/08 they were still reported in Dublin in Brussels Airlines livery, wearing a UK registration :
G-EZEI A319 Brussels Airlines cls - parked between Hangars 5 & 6
G-EZEM A319 Brussels Airlines cls - in Hangar 5

In the orders and deliveries sheets of Airbus, Brussels Airlines is said to operate 9 A319 and 2 A320. They changed from 8 to 9 A319 in between early July and early August. Don't know when they put the numbers, but I think it is quite reliable.

According to http://data.flight24.com/airplanes/oo-djn/ OO-DJN did a late TRN flight on August 9th, and afterwards did not fly anymore .

Since DJK & DJL are already stored, is this the next one already in storage?

DJK is in storage already

JL and JN first have to undergo a maintenance check (c-check + EOL check) after that they will be ferried to bucharest for storage.

According to Skyliner-aviation.de, DJO has been returned to the lessor and DJJ has left (or back in BRU) for paint in Korongo livery...

not yet. has to go an end of lease inspection and C-check first. handover is for later this year but it is out of service indeed.
