Priority lane against payment at Charleroi Airport

Post by sn26567 »

As from today, passengers can clear security checks through the priority lane of Brussels South Charleroi Airprt against payment of 4 euros. This lane was already available since many months for the "VIP Selection" clients of Jetairfly. Now everybody can use it if they pay...

The priority lane can be booked in advance through the website of Brussels South Charleroi Airport (www.charleroi-airport.com) or purchased at the "Friendly Desk" inside the terminal.

I have seen the same at BRS airport where it costs 3,95£
http://www.bristolairport.co.uk/at-the- ... urity.aspx

What bothers me (based on what i saw in BRS) is the fact that you cannot really see if there is a long queue in the 'regular' line or not... I was lucky to have fast-lane access due my ticket, but I did not win that much time since the 'regular' line was not really long. If I had payed for it that day, I would have found it a waste of money.

In my opinion this is overdue! On this relatively small airport you can get through security between 15 and 30 mins right ??

Having to pay an extra fee just to get a decent service is simply a monumental swindle !
No doubts, they have learned from their masters and lords (MOL)

I use the premium pass since 2010. Easy and....usefull.
I'm always sure that the controls are done in 5 minutes....
And.... on some days, you realy have to queue for a moment !
10 flights/year with 1 work hour saved is not so expensive !

David Gering was commercial director Benelux for Ryanair before becoming development director for Charleroi Airport...

True, even at the worst moments, the queue is never longer then 20 min.

But I find the security checks at crl so badly organised:

Last time I prepared well: cell phone, keys, belt, wallet in the bag, liquids and laptop seperatly. The guy was actually angry and started yelling that he had to ask to take laptops and liquids out and that only then I could take it out.

This guy was accompanied by a second guy. Same behind the screen: two guys. But for the hand searvhes, there was only one guy...

So the line didn't move at all...

Cheers,

Stij

This sounds as Faulty Towers. As far as I know there is no legislation in or outside Belgian airports that forbid you to walk around with your shoes, shampoo, belt and laptop in your hand.
But maybe he meant it the other way: if he found it necesarry to check you, he would ask. And in his mind, you helt up the line because he had to control now everything. But you were right anyway by obeying all those rules which are anounced in front of the security lines worldwide with billboards.

WAS ? Gering still IS commercial director for Ryanair. But his salary is now paid by Charleroi Airport.

What are the new airlines he has attracted at CRL? Why is EasyJet not yet coming to CRL? The only "developments" Gering has realized for CRL are new routes for Ryanair and more pax, lots of more pax for Ryanair.
