Another new bird arrived at TNT Airways: a Boeing 737-400F, fresh from the mod shop. It is replacing an older vintage B737-300F.

LJ wrote:I reckon they mean the IATA WInter season (thus the same as for passenger flights). The slots for Summer 2011 are already determined, thus it would be difficult to start a regular service during IATA Summer 2011. We can see if ELAL requested slots at AMS for Winter 2011/2012 shortly (the slot requests will be published by mid May).
EL AL is serious about moving (some of) their ops to AMS. They've requested 9 weekly cargo flights with 747-400 (including 2 weekly AMS-JFK) all starting at the beginning of the IATA W11 season.

Summer EL AL Cargo Schedule
LY801/2 TLV-LGG-TLV: 2x weekly
LY809/10 TLV-LGG-TLV: 1x weekly
LY871/2 TLV-LGG-TLV: 1x weekly
LY881/2 TLV-LGG-TLV: 1x weekly
LY831/2 TLV-LGG-JFK-LGG-TLV: 1x weekly
LY841/2 TLV-LGG-JFK-LGG-TLV: 1x weekly
One weekly TLV-HKG-TLV has been "temporarily" frozen. (due to hi fuel cost.)

LJ: if your informations are correct: 9 weekly return flights, that means full move of EL AL operations to AMS.?
Please: what is your source : "EL AL is serious...;

My source is the slot allocation list of AMS airport as published by SACN (Stichting Airport Coordination Netherlands)
http://www.slotcoordination.nl/default.asp

They requested (and received) the following slots at AMS (times GMT):

Arr LY801 day 1 74Y TLV 2045
Dep LY802 day 1 74Y TLV 2345
Arr LY807 day 2 74Y TLV 1900
Dep LY808 day 2 74Y TLV 2130
Arr LY809 day 3 74Y TLV 1900
Dep LY810 day 3 74Y TLV 2130
Dep LY831 day 4 74Y JFK 2050
Arr LY831 day 4 74Y TLV 1735
Arr LY832 day 5 74Y JFK 0800
Dep LY832 day 5 74Y TLV 1100
Dep LY841 day 7 74Y JFK 2055
Arr LY841 day 7 74Y TLV 1735
Arr LY842 day 1 74Y JFK 0820
Dep LY842 day 1 74Y TLV 1120
Arr LY871 day 6 74Y TLV 2135
Dep LY872 day 7 74Y TLV 0045
Arr LY881 day 5 74Y TLV 2015
Dep LY882 day 6 74Y TLV 0815

It looks as if they received some night slots as well (not easy to get).

Note: these are slot requests, thus it not certain they'll use any or some.

Cargoitalia is starting one weekly Milan Malpensa – Liege – Lome service with MD11 Freighter.

Pending on request, service operates Milan Malpensa – Liege – Lome – Bamako – Niamey – Liege – Milan Malpensa routing.

The service is an ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) flight for Togo-based carrier Africa West Cargo. The latter operates DC9 freighters to 9 cities in West Africa.

@ LJ:
Thanks very much for your quick reply. From the same source, it says that EL AL have received 462 additional slots but none of the night slots requested.

On the other hand, I 've seen this on Scramble:

Wordt deze nu ook al niet gevlogen? Door Martinair wordt deze vlucht uitgevoerd namelijk of komen ze van de winter met hun eigen kisten? "

Any comments ?

I reckon this persons mean that LY will be daily at AMS.

As far as the night slots are concerned. The slot allocation list does list them. I reckon they have somehow obtained a few (as the list is updated more often). However, it will be interesting to see if this is correct.

Saturday evening around 22h30, a Kalitta Air 747 cargo (CKS343) was in a holding pattern above LGG for about one hour, mostly at 5.950ft.

Was it trouble shooting or weather related?

Yes, otherwise they would say "as of September 29th".

Bernard Tapie, famous french business man, politician and actor wants to invest 200 millions in LGG.

The whole f* world wants to invest in LGG because it has a lot of advantages, but only a very few have actually done something. Let's hope for something real for this time ...

Deux projets sont sur la table.

"Le premier, c'est d'investir dans la société de gestion de Liège-Airport. Et le second, c'est un projet d'une compagnie aérienne régulière, avec plusieurs lignes"

2 project : or investing in the mgmt company of LGG, or creating a new company with scheduled flights.
We'll see that...
