What I find incomprehensible, is why they are doing this on a week day (like the Koksijde Air Show)... is this a new tendency?

Well, surely it's not new : frustrating as it may be, ATCC open day was allways on a weekday...

Might well have to do with the cost of staffing... Overtime is expensive, even to the military, I imagine. Then again, with less and less people working nine to five monday to friday, it becomes less and less of a problem. For myself it will be worth half a day off.
