Not really about new A319's for SN, but what's the status of the seat convertions in the A319's? I've seen on wikipedia that there are now 3 A319's wich still have the old configuration and 5 A319's with the new configuration. The previous time I checked the SN page it was 6 old and 2 new (the two ex Mexicana's). But it's wikipedia, so as always I'm not 100% sure if it is true. :P
So can someone confirm that there are currently indeed 5 A319's with the new seats and only 3 remaining with the old configuration (including OO-SSP who will not get the new seats if I'm correct). And wich registrations still have the old seats?

So what is the situation now? How many Airbus are there compared to Boeing, and is a date already a target for an Airbus only fleet? From the thread it looks like a lot of aircraft are being brought in.

why do the registrations start with OO-S..?

When it was SN brussels, I understood that, but why hasn't the S been replaced by the B of brussels airlines?

Just a question I was asking myself.

It is common practise in Belgium that a plane which was registered in Belgium before receives the same registration again when the plane returns and this regardless of owner/operator. After a periode of 10 years without registered plane attached to it a registration is free again and available for everyone but in these 10 years if the same plane returns it will receive the "old" registration again.

This is why you see Airbusses flying with OO-Sxx registrations, Avro's with OO-Dxx registrations and the Boeings with 00-Vxx registrations... (Sxx for ex-Sabena, Dxx for ex-DAT and Vxx for ex-Virgin Express).

Brussels Airlines is founded on the ashes of Sabena, it still carries the IATA code "SN" and loads of people still refer to Sabena when speaking about Brussels...

I browsed the SN fleet page and it states the following:

- 25 Avro's (13 x -85 and 12 x -100)
- 8 A319's
- 8 B737's (4 x -300 and 4 x -400)
- 5 A330-300's

So it seems that Avro numbers have also been reduced. I garner there are at least a pair of A320's joining the fleet, and some more A319's as they appear to be on a shopping frenzy for them.

Which aircraft are going to leave and when? What will be the new tally? When will the B737 be history?

This question pops up regularly, so here's an overview of the entire SN fleet once more:

Airbus A319: 8... 2 more to come soon (both planes are currently in AUH)
Airbus A320: 1... 1 more to come very soon
Airbus A330-300: 5
Avro RJ85: 13
Avro RJ100: 12
BAe 146-200: 2... Both reserved for Korongo
Boeing 737-300: 5... 1 reserved for Korongo
Boeing 737-400: 4

And then there are 2 EMB145 from British Midland Regional, as well as 1 Q400 from Austrian Arrows operating for SN on a daily basis.
