Bilateral Air Service Agreement Talks Belgium-Nigeria
Next week there will apparently be talks between Belgium and Nigeria to update the Bilateral Service agreements between the two countries.
Later on there will also be negotiations with Hong Kong.
Does anybody on this forum know how this calendar is set up? iow, are these talks set up at the request of some airline(s) or is the ministry just following a "list of BASA's to be updated every x years"?
Could this meeting with Nigeria have been triggered by SN interested in resuming flights to Lagos (and/or other Nigerian cities)?

Re: BILATERAL AIR SERVICE AGREEMENT TALKS BELGIUM-NIGERIA
I remember looking at Arik Air's website and on its routemap Brussels was indicated as a future route. This was before they updated their site to the current one. They are looking currently at expanding their regional and international (longhaul) flights to more destinations...so who know's maybe a nice A340 will appear on Bru's tarmac...or SN will start to Lagos - when the 6th A330 comes or with the current fleet...lets hope these talks bring an interesting conclusion.
About Hong Kong - whatever is happening to Hong Kong Airlines cargo flights?!

Re: BILATERAL AIR SERVICE AGREEMENT TALKS BELGIUM-NIGERIA
Arik Air has financial problems and altough they may be interested in BRU, I don't think they will come in the first years. Altough I could be very wrong, because they are indeed interested in BRU (at least they were interested).
And SN to Nigeria, yes maybe, but not with the sixth A330. They have other things to do (DKR back daily with A332, non stop FIH and other destinations more non-stop (LH doesn't like SN's triangel routes), US routes,...) And Nigeria is an important LH market (3 destinations and several daily flights).
Hong Kong with Hong Kong Airlines is only a matter of time I would say. We haven't seen the last of the HNA group here in Brussels...
But anyway negotiations about the bilateral agreements doesn't necessarilly mean anything.

Do you have more information on this? Or is it just your guess about new AFI destinations?flyfred007 wrote:THE next a330 Will be for THE three new destinations Bamako Lagos and libreville . So Lagos they don t wanna encounter THE Same problems as with THE senagalese governement.

Re: Bilateral Air Service Agreement Talks Belgium-Nigeria
I know these destinations gonna be annonced pretty soon
Re: Bilateral Air Service Agreement Talks Belgium-Nigeria
With the arrival of the 6th A33O which would serve those cities ?
Re: Bilateral Air Service Agreement Talks Belgium-Nigeria
If this is true I'm quite suprised they've chosen 3 new destinations (especially Lagos wich is already daily served by LH) and not just the optimization of the current network.
Re: Bilateral Air Service Agreement Talks Belgium-Nigeria
Accra was served by LH before the arrival of SN. Bamako is a former destination of Sabena. No memory for Libreville.
An optimization could being DLA Luanda, and Yaounde Libreville what would make of FIH a direct destination.
What do you think about Luchtzak members ?

Sorry , you have really confused me with this comment , is this a reference to the former UK Prime Minister , and , if so , what does she have to do with the subject ? If it is not a reference to her then what does your comment mean ?flyfred007 wrote:I knowhow Thatcher it is allready in THE pipe line
