Hm, so BRU-HAJ again with a Q400, or with a Fokker70/100 ? Will the Tyrolean wet-leased a/c be based in BRU or HAJ for this purpose? Tyrolean is, as part of OS, of course as well part of the LH world, but so far I cannot remember them to have done such wet-leases on behalf of other LH group carriers?

OK, so according to the press release, it will continue to be a Dash DH4 to operate BRU-HAJ. Still the question remains open: based in BRU? based in HAJ? Or will it perform flights from Austria to HAJ and than continue to BRU and return to Austria again via HAJ? Will it continue to show its "Austrian Arrows" colour scheme which it probably has as Tyrolean aircraft at the moment - or will it be repainted for the job in SN colours? So far the Dash of Augsburg Airways had the LH regional colours as far as I saw. That was ok I think, to have LH colours for a flight between Belgium and Germany, even if it was a SN flight. But to have a plane with OS colour scheme on that route, hm? Pax will be somewhat surprised I guess ...

Ethiopian Airlines will increase the service to BRU from 5 to 6 weekly, begins 15 June! Altough they will downgrade mostly to a Boeing 757. Also the route will change mostly: 5 weekly via MXP and 1 weekly via CDG

Addis Ababa – Milan Malpensa – Brussels

ET709 BRU2015 – 2200+1MXP2300+1 – 0640+1ADD 757 x16

Addis Ababa – Paris CDG – Brussels

I read also that Olympic will discontinue Athens - Brussels.
Will this be with the start of the summer season?

And Etihad will start 2 months earlier with the 2 extra weekly flights.
So these two extra flights will be on friday and saturday morning.
Best regards,

On Friday morning and Saturday afternoon. ;)

I just checked Amadeus and it appears that the Friday morning flight will be operated by Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The Saturday flight will be in A330-200.

Actually I do see the frequency upgrade 2 months earlier than planned, but I don't see the A333 until August and as from August on the Saterday flight, not the friday morning flight (amadeus).

I checked some other dates and indeed the frequency upgrade seems to start at 3 June with two flights on Friday and a new Saterday flight and indeed the morning flight on Friday is A333 operated. But I only see this for 3 and 10 June, later in June and July its all A332 until Saterday 6 August when the flight is operated by A333. As from 6 August all Saterday flights are A333 operated. But it's not always that clear, it looks like the skip a week sometimes (like Saterday 24 September wich is loaded as A332 operated).

I've heard ET has 5th freedom rights on the MXP-BRU-MXP flights, this was not the case with the CDG flights.

Aegean is also taking over the lost capacity on the ATH-CDG and LHR routes. Both will get two extra daily flights.

Nothing to do with BRU, but remaining out of topic, Aegean will also open route from Larnaca (Cyprus) to LHR in summer 2011, competing wuth Cyprus flagship airline.

Adria expands seasonal services out of Pristina. One of the new routes is Brussels, 2 weekly with A319. Other new destinations are Copenhagen, Paris and Dusseldorf (they already serve Frankfurt, Ljubljana and Munich out of Pristina).

So the route Pristina- Brussels will be operated 2 weekly from 2 June untill 29 September.

Eastern Europe seems to be very interested in BRU this summer: Bacau (Blue Air), Pristina (Adria, JAF), Tirana (JAF, Belle Air) and Podgorica (Montenegro Airlines) are all new this summer.

I was saying this years ago that eastern europe deserved more direct flights ex-BRU. Last year and this year we see this happening. But let us wait a year to see how many new of those flights still excist

I'm afraid some of these destinations will not be served anymore next year. Blue Air, Montenegro Airlines and Adria are not know for their wonderfull financial results. Let's hope the best for these Eastern European routes. ;)
