i was also very surprised by the entensity of the debate ... it's "only" the project of a new airline in the end ... and far to be finished it seems ...
But it looks like some absolutly wants to "nip it in the bud"

Sure ... I wish them good luck because they're worth it. I'm full of respect for people who start this kind of project and certainly after the Sabena disaster.

This topic will not be archived. Not now. I am convinced something serious will colme out of this.

Will it last? That is another question.

The topic might become dormant for some time if there is no further news in the near future. Let's see what happens ....

Not only Wings of Maastricht, but also GLM isn't flying (yet). However, their website still exists (and you can still win two tickets to London on GLM).

are you kidding me ... come on .. the SN meals in B.Business and B.flex are way better quality than the small fingerfood plate that you get on the Thalys trains ... and besides .. who needs internet on a plane ... flights are that short that business men don't need to be in live broadband contact with the ground ;)

True and not true! If you take a Thalys on breakfast, lunch or dinner hours you get a descent meal, if you take one in the late morning or in the afternoon, you get finger food. But yes, I consider those meals way better then B.Business and B.Flex meals. Once my "fresh" B.flex meal was even still frozen!

About the internet, yes and no, if there's good wireless in the airport that doesn't cost a fortune and if you don't have to run for the plane, you can replicate before take-off and replicate again after landing. However, if you have to look something up before giving an answer, it's handy to be online.

Cheers,

Stij

Hello,

I don't know if anyone noticed this, but the site of BeOnTop Airlines is online again.
The site announces:"We will come back very soon. Stay tuned."
There is a countdown that leads to early February 2014.
Moreover, BeOnTop Airlines is mentioned on the Liege Airport website, in the business directory.
And on ch-aviation.ch too.
Does anyone have more information?

Here are the links:

And we have a name, which leads to more info on Linkedin, a former Sabena Captain.

But why Liege instead of BRU? It's located right in the middle of 3 LCC airports, Maastricht, Köln, Charleroi.
If they want to offer quality travel, BRU sounds like a better place to start at.

The biggest hurdle to starting up is above the administration, the funding.
If investors are so desperate as to queue up to invest in as incompetent a company as Bpost there may be opportunities on the open market, if they can find an institution that would support their listing on the stock exchange, even though they are a start-up.

I think that there is a demand for real quality travel in and out of Belgium.
But Liège is difficult, I would be amazed to be proven wrong.

It's time that Belgium gets an airline that is not owned by some foreign entity in one or the other way.

Maybe those from BeOnTop should ask Maastricht Airlines how you can fool local and regional authorities to get some funding. However, that would probably mean changing the name of the airline into Liege Airlines...

Ask the investors in Maastrich Airlines why they put money in the airline and you have your answer. In the end, aviation is a great way to loose money.

Anyway, I foresee some fun the coming weeks in this thread (for this thank you). Hopefully, not too many will put a lot of effort only to discover that they believed in a flawed plan from start and left with a dream crushed and money lost (see Maastricht Airlines).

Well, Liège province is big enough to generate some demands...
Maastricht proved it can attract pax, Liège should do only better since it's bigger
BRU and CRL are covered more than enough
LGG is cheap and the airport wants to generate new traffic.
that's a lot of good reasons I guess

Now ... this company is still wishfull thinking.
My messages reflect my personal opinion which may be different than yours. I beleive a forum is made to create a debate so I encourage people to express themselves, the way they want, with the ideas they want. I expect the same understanding in return.
