Good evening folks,
I was wondering if anyone has info on the EBBR - GVAC route flown by JAF in the (IATA) Summer period. I am planning to spend some holidays there and although I am in the aviation business (in ATM actually) I hope to find some more info here than what I can find in AIS, EAD or else. I haven't yet sorted out what plane/ tailnumber JAF filed in the FPL, but I will look into this next week (knowing this can change at the last minute.)
Whatever was your experience: plane, airport, etc - please share, all info is welcome.
Thx a lot & cheers.

Re: EBBR - GVAC routes flown by JAF
Mm, something new for a change!
Most people make their holiday plans based on hotel service, annex environment!
Seems like yours is based on airplane and aiport selection.
Anyway, my opinion GVAC ---> always sunny, quiet islands, watersport facilities,
Try it for a change,
grtz,
Cad

Hi Cad!
Well I've been to too many places with a landing strip that called themselves an 'airport' flying on planes that had wings all right but that's about all that made them 'planes'
)) no seriously, I've had the creeps sometimes.
So yes, air safety is #1 in my holiday choice, no doubt about that. On the other hand GVAC is one of the alternates for the Space Shuttle (at least one of the RWYs) so that's already reassuring
)
Cheers.

Last year JAF used B738 aircraft to fly to Sal. I guess it will be the same this year.

The aircraft used is indeed a B737-800, usually the OO-JAX at the moment.
I guess they will use the newest models (with the sky interior) on those flights (2 extra B738's will arrive in the fleet with the new sky interior this year).
However, the route is EBBR-GVBA-GVAC-EBBR (first stop is Boa Vista).

hmmm.. any chance to get the new sky interior B738 on our trip to Gran Canaria on june 9th ? (from CRL)
Btw do you happen to know on what routes the B734's are still used ?
When those 2 are gone, as well as OO-TUC (when ??), JAF will have a pretty nice fleet age !
cheers
T.

There is always a chance that you get a new B738 with the Sky Interior at CRL, but it cannot be sure at the moment since this changes quite often. It is possible anyway
As for the routings of the OO-TUA (B734), it changes as well but it's mostly used as a back-up aircraft at the moment. If you fly out of CRL, you can be pretty sure you will fly NG's anyway. The Classics are to be based in Brussels.
Not sure either for the retirement of the OO-TUC yet. It all depends on the contract with Thomas Cook and on the arrival of the B787(s).
No doubt that the JAF fleet will be perfect by then!
