B767 for TUI Airlines Belgium ?

Post by SkyJet »

Apparently a B767 will join the TAB-fleet,
because on the JetAir Website
they're looking for pilots B737/B767 !

Sobelair doesn't own 767's only 3 737's

If Tui will use 767's they need to lease them.

I beg to differ

In my opinion, the most beautiful scheme for a Boeing 767 is this one...

If TAB would start using 767's on a permanent basis, they are very likely to be registered in Belgium.

If they would start flying 767, it would be great news !!!

Well if those 767s that TUI might operate are former Sobelair planes, than they will still wear the reg they had with SLR. In Belgium a plane can only have 1 reg, even after having an foreign reg for a while, it will get the same reg again when it returns to Belgium.

I agree, I like the TUI livery ...

But ...
It's a shame the livery appears at so many airliners, and some nice classic schemes are disappearing ... think of Hapag-Lloyd and Britannia : were very nice liveries, but in short time they'll be completely disappeared. The way the Star Alliance is doing, is way better : one or two airplanes of each airline are in the Star Alliance scheme, the others have the normal scheme.

Are you guys sure that TAB can fill up a B767-300 on their own account and fly to the carribean on the same freqency as slr did, because all these flights used to be full with a mix of Thomas Cook and TUI customers.

Negative, the SLR-flights were not mixed. After the demise of CityBird, NUR (now Thomas Cook) contracted Sobelair.

And no, it's not the concern of TAB the aircraft would be full, the touroperator should !

I think that TUI will sell some seats for the Caribean to Thomas Cook.
The same as TUI(Jetair) did to sell its Ostend seats to Sunsnacks-Neckermann.

Now Thomas Cook has its own plane to Tenerife but at what horrible our!!??!!! You lose one day!!
Its better to fly from EBOS to Tenerife with Jetair. Even with a replacement airline such as LTE or SN Brussels.

Nobody can fill its seats to the Caribean alone and still make a profit.
The discounts would be too big...

Not so! Three years ago, CityBird was flying to the Carribean for Neckermann (now Thomas Cook) and Sobelair for JetAir. And I can tell you both airlines' planes were full when I used them.
