from thoses news, it seems clear belleair is moving from LGG to BRU (despite the LGG lastest communication).
Then Jetair is also choosing the same airport to "steal" the existing market.

Now, why BRU and not keeping LGG, good question ...
Why not CRL ...
Maybe Belleair is interested by BRU's connections ... and then LGG is really not the right place to be.

In Brussels Airport November airline news:

Based on the overwhelming success of the start of the route in summer 2010, Middle East Airlines plans to further expand its operation between Brussels and Beirut in summer 2011. Frequency will grow from the current 3 weekly operations to 4 weekly, and up to 5 weekly during the peak summer months.

So 4 weekly in S11 and even 5 weekly during peak months (July and August?)

09APR11 – 25JUN11/12SEP11 – 29OCT11 Increase from 3 to 4 weekly
26JUN11 – 11SEP11 Increase from 4 to 5 weekly

Brussels Airport has published their 'route news letter' January 2011. Some things are already known, but other things were not mentionned yet.
(Some things in the list below are already been mentionned):
- Etihad from 6 weekly to 8 weekly
- Air Vallee starts 4 weekly flights from Angers on 31 January with Do328 (31 seats)
- Egyptair: 6 weekly upgraded to daily (already mentionned several times btw)
- Blue1: adds afternoon flights to Helsinki on days 4, 5 and 7 as from April (only 1 year after they started two daily flights to BRU)
- AnadoluJet: goes to 5 weekly flights from Ankara
- Ukraine International goes from 5 weekly to 6 weekly (additional flight on day 7) as from 5 June, shedule will change from evening flight to midday flight to allow more connections in Kiev
- Jetairlfy to Pristina and Tirana as from 10 June, 2 weekly with B735
- Air Arabia Maroc doubles operations to BRU from 3 weekly to 6 weekly as from 1 July. 3 weekly Casablanca non-stop (is now served 3 weekly trough Fez and Oujda), Fez will be served 2 weekly and the combination flight Oujda/Nador 1 weekly (as far as I know Nador is a new destination for Air Arabia Morac in BRU)
- The last thing is about SN's expansion: RJ replacement on some routes and additional flights to ATH and PRG and the new destinations.

Maybe I shouldn't have used the word 'newsletter', as normally you can subscribe on a newsletter but I don't think you can subscribe on this. Just go to the link below, scroll down the page to "network news" and click the month you want to see. Normally I check it the first week of the month or so to see if the new one is already published. But again, subscribing is not possible I think.

Route BRU-VGO should restart as from the last week of march, this time operated by Air Nostrum (probably with CR9 and even CRK during the summer), 3 weekly flights.

It looks like Olympic Air is resuming their second Athens-Brussels-Athens flight.

Departure Athens at 07.30 am with 10:00 am arrival in Brussels.
Departure Brussels 10:45 am with a 14:00 pm arrival in Athens.

Flight numbers will be:

OA146 BRU-ATH

Quite suprised about this one. I don't know Jönköping really well, but a two daily E145 (47-50 seats?) looks much to me. Is there a reason for this route (business, tourism,...)?

BTW, someone said me that one of the flights to/from Birmingham on Saterday will be operated by a E145 (BD) as from S11 (so one weekly flight). Because of that I also checked if the RJ was still loaded for Newcastle and Bristol, but it seems the E145's are loaded again in the booking engines for these routes. Hannover on the other side is still loaded as Avro operated.
So does anyone knows the reason why SN reloaded the E145 in the booking engine for BRS and NCL. Do they have other plans with the RJ's wich were planned for BRS and NCL, will they retire them, or was it actually never the plan to actually deploy the RJ's to BRS and NCL? And are there other routes wich will get the E145 or Q400 (like BHX wich will get one weekly E145)?

someone said me that one of the flights to/from Birmingham on Saterday will be operated by a E145 (BD) as from S11 (so one weekly flight). Because of that I also checked if the RJ was still loaded for Newcastle and Bristol, but it seems the E145's are loaded again in the booking engines for these routes.

This is now confirmed: the single SN flight to BHX on Saturday will be operated by bmi regional on Embraer 145. The plane used is said to be the one that operates between EDI and BRU.

BRS and NCL will remain on E-145, just as I had expected, despite being loaded on RJ for a while.

On the website of the UK's CAA, you can check pax numbers from each of the UK airports to all the destinations served every month in all possible detail and although the introduction of a 3rd flight has been beneficial to SN at both NCL and BRS, total pax numbers are simply not enough to justify flying 80 seaters.

for instance, you can see that pax numbers from NCL (almost) doubled on a YTD basis thanks to the 3rd frequency, but that still just means about 3,000 pax per month. Okay for 3 E-jet flights a day, but definitely not okay for 3 RJ flights, IMHO. And it seems SN has come to the same conclusion....

Some UA/CO crossfleetings posted on airliners.net, reservation systems would be updated soon. One of the changes: CO EWR-BRU will be operated by a United B772 as from 29 September.
For the information, currently EWR is operated with CO B772 until 17 May as from 18 May it will be B764 again and as from 29/09 UA B772. This may be the end of CO flights to BRU, altough CO may ever appear on the IAH-BRU route, or maybe IAD or ORD-BRU altough I doubt that. I still hope for IAH-BRU.

This may be the end of CO flights to BRU, altough CO may ever appear on the IAH-BRU route, or maybe IAD or ORD-BRU altough I doubt that. I still hope for IAH-BRU.

Maybe you missed it but Continental Airlines will "soon" be gone... UAL holding has "merged" (actually UA did take over CO, but it's called a "merger of equals" to please everyone) with COA forming the new United Airlines. Currently both UA and CO are operating under their own operating certicifates but soon they will be operating under a single operating certificate. It can still take some time but this is what is going to happen one day or another... So CO will be gone in let's say maximum 2 years from now... Yes, the CO planes will continue flying but with a UA name.

Honestly I don't think CO planes won't appear on the BRU routes any soon after they left... BRU is considered a premium market (due governmental/corporate contracts) and apparently they have chosen to put planes with a F class on all the routes from BRU. CO doesn't have F, it only has economy and business (I admit, a business class that is very good) so it seems they are swapping planes to destinations where F isn't needed or where it's needed...

If and when a new route is opened by (the new) UA with destination BRU the chances are quite good that it will have a plane with a F class operating it...
