As far as I know the project is guided by a few ex Sabena pilots.

If it's gonna be an airline run by pilots, I don't give it a long time... All respect for pilots, but they are trained to fly an airplane, not to run airline... I hope there are more people involved with the necessary knowhow.

(Although in Wallonia there is more possible, like subsidies and other benefits)

The A318 is certified for "steep approach", has lower operating weight,(less tax fees) a very good range and as described in the Airbus presentation, you can fly from Paris(LGG?) to Boston,Kuwait and Dakar...So, why not?

That is my own experience in the general aviation and gliding world. So I can certainly say that there is more possible in Wallonia than in Flanders, I don't need to read a book to make my opinion...

Wallonia is indeed known for its strong will to develop aviation industry and is thus giving a lot of different kind of help for that sector, like other countries/regions would do for other sectors.
Now we stop that discussion, it's known to be dangerous. There will be moderation if needed.

Ok but "they" might need the steep approach capability, the range,the commonality between the 318's and 319's, the large overheadbins necessary when flying connecting passengers, the possibility to find easily an MRO Airbus Single Aisle approved by the CAA and not too far away with good price for the spare support, it's easier to find pilot's and CC Airbus qualified...In fact there's thousand's of good reason...

Perhaps they (rightly?) assume it's a cheap aircraft to buy? If you see some of the aircraft built in 2007 (the Frontier ones to be precise) are worth more as scrap than flying...

Some of the ex Frontier A318's are (being) broken up, even though the first flight of those aircraft was only 2007.

As it as been said before: BeOnTop is not an "ex-Sabenien's" project, although the know-how of “ex-Sabeniens” is substantial...

We should add: BeOnTop is not a pilot's project run only by pilots, but in an airline start-up, flight-crews represent more than 70% of human resources, which of course requires some management in that field of competencies, as well as for commercial matters.

As you can read above, there are several questions already:

• When will you start flying?
• Are you really going to use the A318?
• What will be your network?
• As a feeder airline, whom are you going to feed?
• Will LGG be your hub?
• Do you get support from nationa, regional or local authorities?
