First posting here so sorry if not done in correct format.
Just back from FAO with a quick visit to LIS. Flew EMA-FAO-EMA with Bmibaby nothing exciting.
FAO is very quiet in Winter so i can't recommend it. The published spotting area has been improved as a bank has now appeared by the side of the runway where aircraft line up / land if coming in over the sea.
LIS was a first visit and although i'd done my homework on google maps i struggled to find the best places (with hire car / satnav). Again LIS was quiet.

Re: FARO AND LISBON
Thanks for posting your experience. I think it could as well have been posted in the Spotting forum, but since it is a mixed experience (flying and spotting) I leave it here.
Keep sending your experience.

Re: FARO AND LISBON
some very nice pictures of large props, Russians ( even the illustrious Il-76 which we saw often here at Ostend blowing the tiles of the roofs ) and ...TEA's B737 which I flew between Bangkok and Saigon as a Vietnam Air flight ( but than in red livery )
Thank you, nice memories.

Re: Faro and Lisbon
Well, 2 years ago we also did Lisbon for 2 days spotting and it was indeed a bit dissappointing... Traffic variety is quite limited and there are indeed not too many spots to take decent pics.
I believe the one where you were was the best one, being the small dead-end street where you see the crossing of both runways.

Then there was also a spot near the beginning of rwy 03, where you could see the planes lining up.

And according to locals that was basically it... there was alos a spot near the beginning of rwy 21, but they didn't really adviced us to go there due to some risky corners.
