What a list....
Not complete Fons,

what about Luc Mellaerts ChallengeAir, or European Airlines, Skyjet Belgium and Chartair ?
Furthermore we had the cargo's like European Expedite, BIAC, AMI Cargo, European Airlift and Transjet.
And finally the small carriers like Eurojet, Euro Direct Belgium, Airlines 1992, Lignes Aeriennes Wallonnes, Air Meuse, Air Exel Belgium, and i will probable forget some more.

A very impressive list if U ask me.

I cannot understand why the court did not opt for a smooth liquidation of assets! Yesterday, this was still the most probable and least painful outcome. Does the court have a heart?

The court just applied the law: according to the law Sobelair is bankrupt, and in such case, the court has to declare a company bankrupt !!

Moreover bankruptcy gives the staff more protection than a liquidation.

In case of liquidation the shareholders can run awy with the money ...

Trust me (I'm a lawyer ...) bankruptcy was the best thing in this case.

Yes,

The very last SLR flight leaved Mombasa this afternoon and is planned to arrive round 23.30 local.

With a little of luck, -hopefully tomorrow more concreet news- SOBELAIR should start his flying activities again on friday for his clients and this in expectation that a take over can be realized in the coming weeks.

Lets hope for the best.
Keep 'Em Flying !!

Sadly they don't.

TC will operate with their own planes on the European market and with Condor on the long haul market.
Jetair will decide soon which carrier(s) they gonna use on their services for the period until April.

Honestly, I think we'll only see SLR aircraft flying when they fly away from their homebase of BRU back to the leasing companies or to buyers...

Too bad :(

Only the marketing name disappeared  .

In fact the same could be said of DAT (Delta Air Transport) and SN Brussels.

Sorry for getting a bit :offtopic: here.

A very sad piece of news...

Have you got any idea on which ones had to leave the fleet...

738: OO-VAS? OO-VAC?
734: OO-SBJ? OO-SBM? OO-RMV? OO-VJO?
733: OO-SBX? OO-SBZ?

Thanks in advance.

Was SLR 1826 really the last Sobelair flight? Yesterday, RTBF news interviewed a crew that just came back from AMS, where it had flown an B767 from the Carribean (probably the DCA flight from Curaçao to Amsterdam).

I guess that by now DCA will have found another operator?

The B-737 classic will be OO-VJO.

Strange ...

... but this flight appeared in the BIAC scheme:

24/01 04:00 Nador Q7 204 733

Any clues ?

Regards, Robin Bamps.
