American introduces new booking fee

Post by sn26567 »

American Airlines introduces new booking fee for reservations, starting 20 December 10, if booking via travel agents using certain reservation systems. It will charge $12.25 per sector booking fee when travel agents makes reservation via Galileo or Worldspan system.

Nothing new for us, Europeans. Many airlrlines charge 5 to 10€ per reservation as an internet booking fee.

So on the one hand American is introducing "happy hour" on their domestic and Caribbean routes called 5@5 where you pay $5 for an alcoholic beverage instead of $7 but on the other hand they are introducing a new reservation fee. I guess that should make up for the $2 discount.
