Re: SN flights to Patris CDG
Hello,
Any idea if the 2 daily BRU-CDG flights are performing well?
Why don't they open sales to passengers wanting flying SN on their european network now?

Re: SN flights to Paris CDG
You can book a BRU-CDG flight on SN's website so why do you think they're not open for sales ? But as I did only a quick check, it seems only in b.flex and b.business so no b.light

Re: SN flights to Paris CDG
The reason for this has been explained numerous times BTW.
This flight is aimed at long haul pax connecting to/from AFI and India (on 9W) and so they want to keep ALL of the capacity available for these long haul pax rather than fill it with low yielding medium haul traffic, hence the obligation to book in b.business or b.flex should you absolutely want to fly them medium haul in Europe from CDG...
Give it a try on their website if you don't believe me...
You'll see it is indeed possible to book flights to European destinations from CDG through BRU, but only in limited numbers (often you'll see this comment, otherwise very rarely displayed on SN: "only 1,2, 4 seats available") and only in b.flex or b.business.

Re: SN flights to Paris CDG
Thks tolipanebas! I knew about this "long haul only" policy but I thought it would change with the aditional flight...
I just tried (CDG-BRU-FCO-BRU-CDG) and everything is ok... apart that b.light is not available on the CDG-BRU leg... making the whole price quite high vs AF for example...
Are these 2 flights really fully booked with long haul pax? No potential seats (even if a few ones) for medium haul?

Re: SN flights to Paris CDG
BRU-CDG return in October is almost 400 euro. Not cheap indeed. That means you will have to use the TGV.

Re: SN flights to Paris CDG
It's not a question of being fully booked all the time, it's a question of not wanting to take on any obligations towards passengers doing not much more than filling up your feeder route alone.brusselsairlinesfan wrote: Are these 2 flights really fully booked with long haul pax? If you'd offer tickets in b.light too, you'd have to reserve seats in the corresponding booking classes and those seats would normally be taken months in advance by bargain hunters: the last thing you'd want to see happen however is that you can't max out on your long haul capacity to AFI, just because the feeder is already well booked by pax paying 79 euro return.
Now, if SN had A321s, they might consider opening CDG to b.light too, although the morning-only schedule isn't really convenient for that really, but until that ever happens, don't expect them to change policy.

Re: SN flights to Paris CDG
It isn't possible to make a test with 6-12 b.light tickets per flight?
Re: SN flights to Paris CDG
Yesterday I was searching for a ticket EWR-BRU when all of a sudden EWR-CDG-BRU appeared on my screen. This is on Continental with CDG-BRU operated by SN. I am now booked in booking class L (dirt cheap). Apparently the CDG-BRU segment is also bookable in connection with non-Africa/India flights. Looking forward to this flight.tolipanebas wrote:This flight is aimed at long haul pax connecting to/from AFI and India (on 9W)
Re: SN flights to Paris CDG
If I'm correct CO (on the second daily flight) and UA(on the first daily flight) also have codeshares on the BRU-CDG flights, so not only 9W and AFI connection indeed. But it's sure that (almost) all pax on these BRU-CDG fligths are connection pax (US, AFI, India).Flanders wrote:

Re: SN flights to Paris CDG
There is one other airline that flies between CDG and BRU: ET (Ethiopian Airlines) with a B767. Do they have traffic rights? I guess that many seats should be available after the passengers from Addis Ababa to Paris have disembarked.

Re: SN flights to Paris CDG
Please tell me as soon as they (SN) decide to offer the BRU-CDG trips at descent prices! And also the same for the CDG-BRU-Europe trips...
Re: SN flights to Paris CDG
BTW, it seems SN will operate 2 daily B734 this winter, while it is 1 A319 and 1 B733 this summer.
Re: SN flights to Paris CDG
According to the Brussels Airport timetable (which introduces the distinction between the different types of 737 as of the next winter schedule), it will be a 733 for the first flight of the day and a 734 for the second.MR_Boeing wrote:BTW, it seems SN will operate 2 daily B734 this winter

SN has codeshare on ET BRU<>CDG so there must be seats available is my guesssn26567 wrote:There is one other airline that flies between CDG and BRU: ET (Ethiopian Airlines) with a B767. Re: SN flights to Paris CDG
However, they (SN) don't sale the seats between BRU & CDG... would be perfect indeed coming back to CDG from one of SN european destinations...Thomas_C wrote:SN has codeshare on ET BRU<>CDG so there must be seats available is my guesssn26567 wrote:There is one other airline that flies between CDG and BRU: ET (Ethiopian Airlines) with a B767. Re: SN flights to Paris CDG
The codeshare is only between BRU and Addis Abeba, not between BRU and CDG or FRA.Thomas_C wrote:SN has codeshare on ET BRU<>CDG so there must be seats available is my guess

Re: SN flights to Paris CDG
Since many people here wonder how the CDG flights are performing, I'll share my experience from a recent trip.
Flight: SN3634 CDG 11.45 BRU 12.45
Actual flying time: approx. 35 minutes excl. taxi
Aircraft: 737-300 winglets (134 seats if I'm not mistaken)
Loads: 1 pax in Business, 35 pax in economy
Travelers: 33 persons of African decent (I guess we can assume they connect to another SN (AFI) flight)
Service: my reservation said "Service: snack" and indeed... a free cup of water and/or orange juice was provided. Free refills; I was asked three times if I wanted another drink. Everybody received a "Granny" biscuit as well.
Remarks: My flight from EWR to CDG was kind of late, but still in time to connect to the SN flight. In BRU I had to find out my checked luggage didn't make it. I realize this is not SN's fault, stuff like this happens, but at least they could have informed me when I entered the plane at CDG, Im pretty sure they knew my bag wasn't on board. Would have saved me an hour watching the belt at BRU.
Greetings,
Flanders.
