Maybe a little bit off topic but in April 2008 there were articles in several Belgian newspapers about SN & Jet Airways would start Thalys train services from Paris to BRU, starting December 2008. Are they still planning or did they change their mind about that?

I suppose this is a typo and you mean "their country of origin"?

Judging by the fact SN now flies twice daily between BRU and CDG, I reckon that they changed their minds.

Mind you, the high speed trains from Amsterdam don't come all the way to Brussels Airport, which is very inconvenient.

Not yet. Diabolo will take care of that, be patient.

It would be possible, even before Diabolo is finished. It will take a few minutes to 'turn' the Thalys but I think it will be about 2 hours to get from Amsterdam to Brussels Airport.

LJ wrote: The timings are very bad. Only if you live in Amsterdam or Rotterdam it's worthwhile. However, I reckon that SN realises that if it want to tap into the Amsterdam - Accra (and the rest of Africa) market is has to offer their pax a connection to/from Brussels. If I'm not mistaken SN tried this before from Eindhoven and (if I'm not mistaken also Rotterdam) in the past (without much success). Maybe flying to AMS again??
Indeed, Sabena had a coach shuttle between Eindhoven and BRU. I don't remember when it started, but it was operated until the bankruptcy of Sabena. I think it didn't start long before. My first pic of a vehicle of this service is only from 04/2001. I remember I never saw more than a few persons on board...
Can't remember a coach service from Rotterdam in Sabena history

Btw, is the Utrecht shuttle still operating?

They should give it a flight number and make it appear in the GDS as well as the booking site of their own website just as if it were a flight, although I understand that this brings additional complications and liabilities for SN which they haven't at present because they are merely linking to the company that sells the tickets.

And before that Sabena was flying between EIN and BRU.

Are the first results positive on these services?

For brussels airlines and compared to SABENA, the financial risk is lowered as they do not operate this bus link by themselves isn't it?

Do some busses wear the brussels airlines livery?

If I'm not mistaken, with Metroliners operated by EAT, yes, the same, but before it was bought by DHL...

Cheers,
