BTW from september 2nd, FR will open a new route CRL - BCN (FR6393 and return FR6392).
Price return ticket (1 adult) € 181,40.
There is no set price for CRL-BCN, same as for any FR flight.
I had a look just before writing this message, and a return ticket CRL-BCN, outbound on September 13th, inbound on the 15th - cost 45,18 euros ...
What about Thomas Cook? They have no plan for CRL? It will be great
Ryanair will open Oujda in november 2/week and increase some destination.

Did you add all the goodies such as 1 piece of luggage ( 2 ways ), service charge ( per pax ), credit card charge, on/of line check inn ?
Next year we can add in this list probably also using a seat, toilet and using a small amount of air

The price I quoted includes taxes, fees and online check-in; not including optional charges : hold luggage, priority boarding, credit card fee (easily avoidable by getting a Mastercard Prepaid on the net).
But I do agree : 45,18 euros is not a remarkably cheap FR ticket, it's rather an expensive one. I, for one, rarely pay more than 25 euros for a return ticket on Ryanair ...

From November Ryanair will increase the number of based aircraft at Barcelona El Prat (BCN) from 5 to 8.
As part of this expansion the frequency on the Barcelona BCN to Charleroi CRL route will be further increased. BCN - CRL starts in September (once daily). The exact increased frequency from November should be known in the coming days.

If Ryanair increases the frequency to Barcelona's main airport, will they keep flying to Gerona at the same frequency?
Megaman wrote:I wonder if CRL will continue with a growth rate of +30% in 2011... Does anybody have any opinion based on facts on this?
CRL itself said the grow must be slowed down, because they are getting closer and closer to the 5 million. And the terminal (wich is pretty new) is build for up to 5 million pax. I've understood that there are plans to expand the terminal as fast as possible.
But maybe someone with more knowledge about this could awnser more precise.
Hi all...some explanations about Air Arabia ...they asked CRL management
to start cargo ops which is for the moment not possible.
Other news:- 4 new gates ready for summer 2011 + new shops + new security checks
-doubling in size and capacity of the terminal for 2015
up to 9 millions pax or more
-extension of the runway
-train station ...at a later stage

This is not new. We already know for some years now that there will be a trainstation and an extension of the runway (if possible due to several complaints of actiongroups and polical).
Ryanair (LC) and Jetairfly (leisure) will expand. This will be the future for crl (LC and leisure)
You are right this is the future for CRL, LC and leisure, but....they should as well try to attract some general aviation, this is a business wich is not enough developed in CRL.
Also, Low Cost long range operation would be a nice move, with the extension of the runway everything becomes possible.
I'm afraid CRL will start to have the same problems as BRU: unhappy neighbours. Look at Google Earth and ask yourself the question: "Do I want to live in Jumet or Courcelles?" IMHO, a little bit more expansion and the local Willoo or Daedalus will come into action.
Low-cost long haul: Low Cost normally works point to point. So many tried, so many failed. I personally don't beleive in it. I wouldn't focus on the extension of the runway to much, unless maybe for charter flights, that could work. On the other hand, if I would be the Walloon government I would say: "welcome to Liège!".
I don't think that's too much of an issue as the answer to the question "Do I want to live in Jumet or Courcelles?" is "No" anyway . Property is very cheap in those places so buying them out should not be very costly.

Cheers mates,

Liege doesn't have an already established LC flying to 40+ destinations, by introducing LR A/C's on route to the US,Africa and Middle east, It could work with some good connections.
If they would offer Long Haul Low Cost flights they would certainly not provide connections as they would be responsible if pax missed their connection. Probably they would force you to book that flight separately so they can just say; hey bad luck, buy a new ticket.

May be...may be not...
some LCC's are already providing connecting flights, and it is working very well.
or for the connecting flights, you could charge an extra fee (automatic luggage recheck handeling fee) which could be used to pay an insurance premium (the number of people missing flights is far less important than the number of people not missing their flights).
