No, it won't : I think I have made it clear here above.
The walloon government has decided to choose, amongst different possibilities, the railway station to be located directly under the air terminal.
The line 140 connects Charleroi and Ottignies - with possible connections to Mons or Namur from Charleroi; to Brussels or Leuven and Liège from Ottignies.

I was talking about the existing tram network and the planned tram lines.
Not the new train connection.

This deserve to be in the appropriate subject, ;)

An increase of 37% in the first quarter of 2010!

Brussels South Charleroi, the most accessible airport in Belgium, welcomed this Thursday the millionth passenger of the year. Arriving from Istanbul, Ms. Ilse LESAGE and her family were warmly welcomed by the airport. The whole family flew to the European capital of culture 2010 to celebrate their grand parents’ 40th wedding anniversary under a sunny weather.

Almost I million passengers have registered by the Friendly Airport in January, February and March 2010, which is an increase of 37% compared to the same quarter in 2009. In March 2010, a total of 381,023 passengers have registered. This concerns an increase of 43% compared to the 266,471 passengers registered on the same month last year.

This significant increase is explained by an increased number of flights and by having more and more destinations on offer from Brussels South Charleroi. But the Belgian winter weather has also contributed; more Belgians felt like flying off to sunny destinations.

During the first week of the Easter holiday, the airport welcomed a total of 16,500 passengers a day, an increase of 43% compared to last year.

Jetairfly, present since 2008 at the airport, offers as many as 7 new sunny destinations this summer season. The routes will be launched in April, May and June and will go to Istanbul, Antalya, Heraklion, Rhodes, Al Hoceima, Tangier and Algiers. In March, Jetairfly recorded the highest occupancy rate of all airline companies, with an occupancy rate of over 90% on all destinations.

During the second week of the Easter holiday, the airport authorities advise all passengers to check-in 2 hours before the departure of their flight.

13th aircraft for Charleroi from June, it'll be used to increase frequencies on 13 existing routes (no new routes apparently which is a bit strange...)

At the bottom of the press release...

Agadir, Cagliari, Fez, Figari, Gran Canaria, Ibiza, Marrakesh, Nador, Pau, Tangier, Tenerife, Seville, Zadar

Mainly Morocco (poor Royal Air Maroc and Jet4You) and tourist destinations (poor JetAirFly and Thomas Cook).

Ryanair, your holiday airline!

Beginning to think about it: out of all the destinations served by Ryanair, only Stockholm, Oslo, Dublin, Bergamo, Rome, Madrid and Barcelona could be really considered business compliant destination with a (kind of) business compliant schedule.

I would have expected them to develop to a lot of business destinations as well, like Manchester, Berlin, Malmo... bit instead they fly mainly to tourist regions and to regions were immigrant workers come from (I'm sorry, this is probably not the best or polite description possible, but I'm at the limits of my English here...)

Cheers,

Stij

From end July Wizzair will increase its frequencies on its Budapest route from once daily to 11 flights per week.
The extra flights will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday mornings.

(Similarly, Eindhoven to Budapest will also go from 7xweekly to 11xweekly)

"New Record for Brussels South Charleroi Airport: 467,943 passengers in May, an increase of 39%!

Brussels South Charleroi, the most accessible airport in Belgium, has reached a new monthly record for its number of passengers in May. A total of 467,943 passengers have used the airport, representing a growth of 39% compared to the same period last year. This result has been achieved despite the disturbance of around one hundred flights as a result of the volcanic ash cloud from Iceland.

During the month of May, the occupancy rate was very high, mounting to more than 95% for certain destinations. These fantastic figures indicate these were even busier holiday months than in previous years.

Brussels South Charleroi is continuing to grow and 2010 promises to become a year to break all records. Anticipating a busy summer, the airport has already opened a new long-term parking at the beginning of May for 1500 cars. Over 100 supplementary staff members (among them 64 students) have been recruited to guarantee an optimum service to passengers this summer."
