Thanks for this nice photo report as well. Strange to see CRL under snow.

These just prove how much Ryanair cares about its passenger's safety.

Am I seeing people going down stairs dangerously covered with snow?
Were passengers consistently being guided to walk over a snow-covered tarmac?

Hi,

For those who are intrested;
FR safety cards can be stolen from the aircraft from row 1 ( A C B-seat) or row 2 ( E D F seats)
or better the first rows, which don't have a seat in front ;) !
Note : Please leave these cards inside the aircraft !! ( little text underneath ! )

Better fly without snow or you may pay a winter fee  , salt bags , blankets , scarfs and
off course the Happy X-mas lottery tickets ... , gluhwein,... you got my point

I'm no expert, but I would guess that it is the handlers responsability to remove snow from their stairs, not FR's?

Snow can fall quite heavily in a short time.
People are supposed to be able to walk on snow (a little bit later, a lot of them will drive home on snow).
Anyway, BSCA, not Ryanair, do the handling at CRL, provide the mobile stairs and clear the snow if necessary.
As long as the runway is cleared, it's OK for me !

It is always the carrier's responsibility to give appropriate instructions to the handler, one of them being the provision of stairs that are adequatly certified, operational and clear of ice and snow for the safe boarding and deboarding of passengers.
If the handler does not respect these instructions the carrier must ensure that the handler can comply with its procedures or else the handling activity must be interrupted until the problem is solved.

I believe but am not sure, that a handler's responsibility ceases when a passenger puts a foot on the stair and goes on until the passenger puts both feet on the ground.

Anyone can slip, drop from the stairs and break their neck, especially elderly people.
People are supposed to be able to walk on snow
Not really. People must be provided a safe access path from the moment they access the airport's perimeter.
You are legally obliged to clear a path in front of your property to allow people to walk safely even in front of your house. At the airport, it is a legal and moral requirement to clear a path for the safe transit of passengers.

Hi,

Okay, bad ,bad RYANAIR !!
Maybe this was a once time case, what was the situation on that moment by other carriers
like WIZZAIR or Jet4You.
Maybe CRL handlers must provide for next winter stairs with roofs !!
Try to see to whole picture, if they're deboarding during heavy snowfall
these things can happen but stop blaming Ryanair for every detail ..
If you don't like them, don't fly them and pay a penny more ! That's MHO!

The sole thing I really point out is that the stairs were slippy with ice formed on.
