Re: 2010 Liège Airport (LGG) latest news
from the article:
'De rechter was daarnaast wel van mening dat er sprake is van "duidelijke overtredingen van Belgische of internationale regels" zoals het ontbreken van een studie over de impact van de luchthaven.'
translation:
'The judge's opinion is there are clear violations of belgian or international rules, like a missing impact study of the airport.'
As to say, if non happens soon, they will have to shut down since not all legal requirements are met. As tried with Antwerp airport a few years ago.
they better start doing their homework.

Re: 2010 Liège Airport (LGG) latest news
Most of the pilots and the entire maintenance crew has been sacked. Only for them to lease in a couple of other A300's (-600) within a month after their last A300 (TZB) left LGG on 23-12-2009.
I am a bit confused here. TNT sacked people at a time when they surely must have known that new aircraft were coming? I wonder what it is doing to moral when the clear signal coming from such dispositions is that employees are considered as consumables, and that TNT is not a career airline. The first Boeing 767, operated by TNT Airways, is due to arrive in May.
Re: 2010 Liège Airport (LGG) latest news
I think it's a matter of field of knowledge.
When you are working on A300, you probably can't work on B767 ...
Different people I guess.

Of course you can, you just need a type rating.Acid-drop wrote:I think it's a matter of field of knowledge.

Normally, when a company changes its tools, it doesn't fire employees to hire new ones, it is supposed to train employees.
Quite a rude behavior if true as reported.

Recently, LGG is welcoming russian Il-96-400T, a rare beast since only a very few were build.
Modern airplane, 92 tonnes. Quite interesting stuff.

Any tonnage for April?
to see the impact of the Ashes cloud on the traffic.

Re: 2010 Liège Airport (LGG) latest news
it's a bit too early, around the 20th
We can expect 20% drop (from previous months, not from 2009), or maybe even more since april isn't a busy month

I think this is very important that TNT develops lucrative "niche" market like these...Boeing767copilot wrote:(moderator note : replaced the french text by an english article)

Well done.
Re: 2010 Liège Airport (LGG) latest news
I also notice a very important move (in my eyes
) : the fact that TNT jumped with both feet in the new established (established by the SAB in coordination with GRE - local developpement agency) biologistic segment : when you read the article, the importance of the new route is heavily sustained by that kind of goods
the comments about the previously opened routes of TNT to Shanghai and Singapore, already mentionned that biologistics would be part of the load, but now they even speak more about that part of the freight
