Hi,
tolipanebas wrote:Some GERMAN EFFICIENCY is urgently needed, I'd say! Give us a single German CEO, please.
Or even ***,
buy SN - let it go bankrupted , fire all of them and start a whole new GERMAN airline again in Belgium

Also happened once so the history continous..

As even a Swiss CEO couldn't do it why ask a german to do it,
sweet memories of the 40's

Shouting easy things is easy, but if it was that simple ..

Hi Cathay Belgium !
I first thought I would not react to your post, but when I don't understand something it keeps on lingering in my mind. So, for those like me who are perhaps too young or too stupid, can you explain what you mean by "sweet memories of the 40's" and by a "Swiss CEO".
Thanks.

Hi Air Key West,

I was upset by ' a german CEO ',
I prefer having our own CEO, not all things that are German are better just because it's German.
CEO are people no cars !
Having an outsider as CEO won't always be better.
History told us before, I don't say we can/will have the same future with LH as before with Swiss,
but just keep low profile, the Germans don't tell us all the things they have in mind for SN !
The Swiss CEO was a guy called Paul Reutlinger and the rest was history.
I will apologise me for the 'sweet mems of the 40's' rude for some members and not necessary,
think I made my point.

Again, sorry I hurt some members , but sometimes I react to soon 8-)

Jep! The girl who sings was the lead singer of the group 'Sweet Coffee' until last year.
She's also purser on the Europe sector.

To come back to the sixth A319 for SN (OO-SSD). Is there already a date known that they aircraft will come to Brussels and will enter service?
I also heard that OO-LTM would leave service in June, is this correct and still the plan? I heard it will get new radio communications systems (better adjusted to the African avaiation world) and a new interior before it will go to Korongo. I heard it would be a more comfortable interior with less seats than now. Is this correct?

It will also be repainted in Korongo colours, meaning a white fuselage with a blue tail, featuring a large oversized crane bird on the tail and red Korongo titles on the fuselage.

Probably so, from an interview with Korongo's managing director Christophe Allard last month (which I think was already posted on Luchtzak somewhere previously, but I'm not sure):
Brussels Airlines has earmarked three of its Boeing 737-300 aircraft, capable of carrying 120 to 140 passengers, for Korongo. “They will be modified to carry radio and navigation systems more suitable to the African environment, as well as cabin alterations. Comfort is very important ... it will not be a low-cost style service.

Yes indeed, I didn't knew anymore from where I got it, but indeed this was "the source". ;)

According to libhomeradar.org it operated it's last flight for Meridiana on 16 May. That's the last flight he operated, so probably he is than taken out of service to prepare him for SN.

Banalizing such silly statement demonstrates once again that there's something wrong with some people's in this "country"...

For Mister Tolipanebas, I really hope that you are not a pilot with brussels airlines my friend, because your statement" give us a German CEO", imply that you are racist and have as well preconceived ideas....on the latins perhaps???

For Mr Desert Rat,

The only one living with stereotypes is you, who's apparently still associating anything German with Nazism, 65 years after the war! I urge you to wake up to the new reality and not live in the past...

Allow me to say your assumption of me having preconceived ideas on 'the latins' shows once more what a narrowminded mindset you really have yourself towards anything foreign (and non-Frenchspeeking), since it implies I only call for a German, just because a German is of good "race and blood", whereas it has apparently never crossed your mind that I may actually do so based on the very strong reputation Lufthansa - German Airlines has when it comes to turning airlines around!

Have you ever heard of 'German efficiency' or are you aware of how well run LH is?
And has it never crossed your mind my demand for a German CEO may have had more to do with that than with some retarded political opinion I could be trying to sneek into the discussion? Because to me it looks like there's an awful lot of paranoia needed to assume just that, especially in the context of the post you take offence on! Maybe you must stop reading 'Le soir' or watch RTBF, because as you see demonstrated here, it is really making you assume everybody north of the linguistic border in Belgium are fascists!

Come on, guys, let's not get carried awyay like that and let's cool down ;)
I sympathize with tolipanebas, because I presume that what he meant by "give us a German CEO" is indeed that there is something called German efficiency and LH is known for being well managed, but the short "give us German CEO" probably also meant ; let's get rid of the current management team and especially of the two present CEOs and let's us get competent people at the helm of the airline and why not preferably a German CEO ; indeed the people who work at LH have usually done a very good job and (I'm a Belgian myself) Belgians at the head of an airline have not done a good job, whatever their professional or linguistic backgrounds. These are facts.
BTW, I don't have anything against latin CEOs. Isn't Carlos Brito (Brazil) doing a good job at InBev ?
(why don't they have a Belgian CEO ? completely off topic, sorry).
