Just a tought
If Belgium falls apart(?), each region will have it's own CAA and aircraft register.
What could be the new registration prefix?
Flanders: FL-3 alphanumeric
Wallonia: WA-3 alphanumeric
Will OO- disappear?
Re: Will OO- disappear?
I think Flanders would prefer VL-*** which is still available. Furthermore, FL-*** could lead to confusion with some French registrations F-L***.
I'm afraid anything starting with W will not be accepted,as it is a radio code for the US.
But all this is science-fiction...

Re: Will OO- disappear?
I would have thought it made sense to have aircraft registrations the same as car registrations - IS for Iceland instead of TF, B for Belgium instead of OO etc.
Sabena and Sobelair - gone but never forgotten.

ISO code for belgium is BE.Comet wrote:I would have thought it made sense to have aircraft registrations the same as car registrations - IS for Iceland instead of TF, B for Belgium instead of OO etc.
B for Belgium is only the "car registration code" (for the insurance card!)
For the rest..... wait and see
