That's not so difficult. There is only one weekly cargo flight of this carrier at BRU.

This is very good news, I really think that there should be only one Cargo Airport in Belgium, LGG should take over all Bru operations, there's no room in this country for two cargo hub....
That would reduce the traffic on Brussels ring, reduce the noise pollution over the capital, and redistribute fairly the economic activity generated by Brussels (Pax for ZAV, Cargo for LGG)...

And what do you do with all those airlines which transport cargo on passenger airplanes as a second income source ?Desert Rat wrote:This is very good news, I really think that there should be only one Cargo Airport in Belgium, LGG should take over all Bru operations, there's no room in this country for two cargo hub....

If you remove the cargo infrastructure , you make it more costly for those airlines and so you endanger that they would delocate passenger transport.
Re: 2010 Liège Airport (LGG) latest news
anyway: nobody of us has any influence on that !!
it's all a matter of offer and demand, a matter of business: the companies fly to places where the clients want them to fly, assuming every parameter, like: necessity to re-distribute as belly in pax-aircraft, landing fees, grouping loads to be redirected, trucking distances and highwaycongestions, future implementation or not of eurocarex, .....
if the clients are not "married" with a specific airport or handler, they fly to the place where they have a regular traffic (rerouting airfreight by truck, with an airwaybill, is common use since 20+ years).
all that simply to say that the increase of traffic in LGG has abolutely nothing to do with our "sub-regional ridiculous language war" but with big business: business goes where it earns the most !

I really like the "Belgocontrol employees have concentrated their strike action on LGG due to the limited impact on pax, LGG being a cargo Airport..."
Yeah right, and what about trying to s**** LGG because it is becoming a little bit "too" successfull for some people.Hmmm???

Ok, next time it will be a full day for all airports that don't pay the full price for the service given e.g.: Antwerpen, Oostende, Charleroi and o yes liège. Better that way?????Desert Rat wrote: I really like the "Belgocontrol employees have concentrated their strike action on LGG due to the limited impact on pax, LGG being a cargo Airport..."

Sorry Brussels isn't in that row but they are real, regular customers who pay for the service given to them.
