Reduced traffic at EBBR on rwy 02?

Post by Quader »

Hello,

When rwy 02 is being used for arrivals, there is a lot a traffic turning over Waterloo, to pick up the localiser. However, in the local commune newspaper it says that there will be less within the next few weeks. It also says that it's a government initiative to reduce night and weekend overflights. It describes this as a good thing

Does anybody know anything about these plans?

Thanks,
Alan.

Don't 'always' believe what the 'local' newspapers/tabloids are writing.
They don't have "real world" Aviation experience, METEO and/or Aviation regulations kwowledge ;)
It's all :wtf: hearsay.

BTW Waterloo (Waterlô) is on the other side of the 'language' border and we all know(?) they don't like our BRU sound stuff.

:shh: after tomorrow the wind will shift to Westerly Directions again and guess what?
25 and/or 20 .... pls don't tell anybody!

I don't believe much in newspapers, but this was the commune newsletter. They just tell things as they are, they have nothing to gain for sensationalist reporting. Of course when 02 isn't in use they don't fly over, but the report sounded like there will be a change to curfews perhaps, or routing. I would be surprised if the report was simply because of the north wind.
