We are already being served with the bigger Boeing 767-400. It is true CO can use more capacity on some days or periods.MR_Boeing wrote:There are two destinations in Europe that are served by CO but they can use more capacity. Brussels and Oslo (maybe more, but CO mentionned a time ago this two). Just saw that CO will upgrade the daily route from EWR to Oslo (now daily 752) to 10 weekly (also with B752). But still no BRU upgrades!!
The smallest plane CO can fly into BRU is the B757, so maybe the market is, at this moment, nog big enough to have that much seats extra on either a daily or a weekly base. Now you can say CO could ad a second flight on certain days, but maybe there is no enough spare equipment available.
CO usually has a huge utilization rate on their equipment so they'll have to be very creative in adding routes. They have some (I guess 2) T7's on order and have a lot of 787's (11 -800's and 14 -900's) in the pipeline so once these start arriving they could free up some T7's currently used for very long haul flights that can be shifted to (maybe) BRU.
Adding those Dreamliners to the fleet also will cause the shifting of other types of equipment. A freed up T7 can be used on a former 764 route, which in turn can be used to upgrade 762 and 752 routes which makes more equipment available.
Some rumours excisted CO would buy or lease some second hand A-market T7's for the Micronesia operations which in turn would free up some 767-400 (the 256-seaters i.s.o. CO TATL 235-seated 764's) which could be refitted to join the rest of the 767-400 fleet, but I haven't anything about those rumours lately.
CO is very conservative in buying extra capacity and upgrading routes, they don't have the luxury other companies seem to have in adding capacity to a certain destination.
