SN203 to Dakar (ETD Thursday 11h30, A330) has been cancelled and replaced by SN1203 to Dakar/Banjul (ETD 16h30, A330).

SN204 DKR-BRU, arr Friday 05h40, is therefore cxld.

Confirmed per ATIS of 1420 (UTC): "closed for arrivals". Could not hear any mention of snow though. But there was mention of clouds broken at 400 feet, scattered at 900 which sounds bad enough to me. May be over Cat3 ILS minima, though. But indeed we had a sharp dose of snow north of Brussels around noon, here in the street it is lying some 2 inches thick.

For those in doubt: this closure also affects narrow-body-operations to Africa. (grin).

oops, it stopped snowing here in town (Place Rogier) some 30 min ago. Indeed there are about 4 to 5 cm of snow, but the airport closed :o because of that after it stopped snowing?? Any idea how long that will last?? (I am due to fly to FRA later today

I could not agree more !!

For myself, I just bought a train ticket for tonight to FRA, after LH informed me they have cancelled both LH4581 and LH4583, they could not even guarantee LH4585 (that is at 19h25!!) would actually fly today ...

I seem to remember all the ATIS's are in plain text on Belgocontrol.be but I can never find it... shall be grateful for enlightenment!
Mind you belgocontrol.be does require registration, though it costs neither money nor much work. As a (recently) licensed radio operator I just tuned in on 132.475 MHz

Allow me to correct you : the degraded mode of BRU web site shows the flight status of September TWO, not 1.
Ho, BTW, it is Sept 2 ..... 2008 !
:D

Lot of snow in BRU apparently !!!

Actually I went looking for the status of my incoming flight. Stranded in FCO. For once that I arrived early and could get on an earlier bus, I am now bumped back to SN3184 tonight.
SN3183 supposed to leave now but .... :?

BTW, they are/have been clearing snow from RWY 25L & R but the TAF gave long time ago a shift to Southerly winds >>> RWY 20?

Would appreciate if someone had fresh news on situation at BRU.
Luchtzak as best source of info, how about that !

Cheers.

Thanks
I used a lot this web site.
Gives METARS and TAFs for thousands of A/Ps.
Also lots of satellite pics, see home page.

http://en.allmetsat.com/metar-taf/europe.php?icao=EBBR

Then I check by phone on 2525 before boarding for last update.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

EVERY year the same story.

A bit of snow and Brussels Airport turns into CHAOS.
