Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news
Would this mean that the numbers of based aircraft (currently 8) will be reduced instead of increased?

Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news
I am also hearing conflicting reports from people involved.
Maybe it's another attempt from MOL to secure some subsidies.
Subsidies OK = 3 more aircraft based
Subsidies NOK = recession, sorry we have to reduce
It's not a bad thing, at least the taxpayer money is better spent there than in other useless things, IMO.
It supports many jobs, alot better than giving money away on welfare.

Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news
I am also very interested in the contents of tomorrow's Charleroi announcement. It sounds promising that MO'L himself is coming, but the post about him coming "to dismiss rumours" sounds ominous. What to believe, Belga or a forum post? What was Belga's source? What was the source of the "dismiss rumours" post?
What is certain is that very shortly a dozen routes will be announced from Fuerteventura, and Charleroi is a surety. A Charleroi based aircraft's exterior will even be painted with a "Visit Fuerteventura" advertisement
But MO'L is hardly coming to CRL to announce FUE... He's more likely to announce all new FUE routes at the same time and on Spanish soil...

Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news
this is getting serious now.
I barely imagine how you can fill 21 737/week from CRL.

Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news
It seems that Ryanair is more and more targetting Brussels Airlines' destinations. Competition at its best! Let the best one win!

Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news
Maybe, but aren't they in totally different markets now? FR for pure low cost flying while SN will have to reshuffle operations to become a full service carrier again, relying on Star Alliance?sn26567 wrote:It seems that Ryanair is more and more targetting Brussels Airlines' destinations.
