According to Airfleets:
Hewa Bora Airways 9Q-CJD Aircraft stored at Brussels Airport since 02/06/07 - Stored as S9-TOP 09/2009
It is in that way strange because EO is still blacklisted AFAIK... Anyone with more info?

From the European Blacklist: "Air carriers listed in Annex A could be permitted to exercise traffic rights by using wet-leased aircraft
of an air carrier which is not subject to an operating ban, provided that the relevant safety standards are complied with."

So if I understand it correctly: basically you sell your black-listed plane to a company/ (located in a) country which does not show on the blacklist and you use the same plane again. Since Europe needs some time to update the blacklist, you have a few months to fly the previously banned equipment. There is no S9 registered company on the blacklist.

btw, Flightstats indicates that the inbound flight would be operated by a 757

Yes, that's probably what they have done. S9 is the prefix for Sao Tomé and Principe, basically they did "an Aeroflot" (who also register their planes on the Bermuda Islands, hence the VP prefix).

Just to be clear: the only reason Aeroflot did this was in a move to evade local import taxes.

Yes, I was not questioning maintenance of aircraft safety with Aeroflot. Sorry for the confusion. I just wanted to mention that they also register their planes in another country.

This morning an BAF F16 landed on rwy 02, (reg FA131) for a static show on a family day at the military apron. Took the skies again at 4 pm.

Pics later this week.

The EO/ALX flight was initially delayed until 22H00 (STA 19H00), but that was now amended into 23H50 (all LT)...

I saw the BAF F-16 take off as well. Along with a Piaggio (Avanti?) and an SAS embraer which was making numerous circuits (baptisms?) called for quite an exotic day at BRU yesterday
