It's true that some Belgian tour operators offer flights to Varna, but it is not the most visited vacation spot for Belgian tourists. I hope for you that some of our readers will visit Varna soon and take pictures.

I've been to Varna few years ago,
with Air Via's Tupolev 154M .
Quite nice airport,
I remember a lot of T154M's of air Via and Bulgarian Air Charter.
Also some T134's,specials with nice cockpits.
How is it nowadays in Varna??
Because Air Via drops their flights with T154M and get some A320's.
Still some 'exotic' ones or just mainstream A320/737's...
Love to see some pics of nowadays...
Ciao,CX-B

PS Not popular in Belgium? Nice beach, cheap, friendly people and altough I was on holiday with my lovely wife
I never saw so many beautiful girls on one beach !! 8-) (another thing I like to see instead of planes )
Tip Varna City,Madara , Nessebar and a day trip to Romania!

Have been to Varna for a business trip a few days ago. And two years ago I have been there as well (in December ...) Not really "busy" this airport if you compare it to any airport of a bigger town in central Europe. Real scheduled flights you have one with Austrian to Vienna, one with Bulgaria Air to Vienna, one with Malev to Budapest and two or three with Bulgaria Air to Sofia (per day ...). The rest is tourist charter flights. When I was there a few days ago it looked like about 20 flights / day in total coming in and leaving again. But that might be higher in July / August.

Varna airport is very attractive for spotting and now I`ll show you some places :) ;)
The first pic ----> Image
is made from here (red circle) ---->Image (if you are spoting from the first position (near the fence) you can have small problems with the security but they are friendly ;) )
And the second-----> Image from here (the red circles) ---->Image

georgi,
Nice pics,

I saw the T154's of Air Via in the left corner, are there in storage?,waiting for to be sold? or still used as charters?
Are the still some nice Russians to see?
Didn't expect a 747 in Varna! 8-)

Have fun over there!

Hi,cathay belgium
about the Tupolev he is staying only there (out of order) because now AirVia are flying only with Airbus . About the russian aviocompanies i will see ---> S7(733,or Airbus or 767),Transaero(747),Vim airlines(757),ТАТАРАСТАН - ( which are flying with BulgariaAir Boeings and some tupolevs ), and finally GLOBUS - (734,738,or Ty-154)

In the winter season there are max 5 6 flights  But in the summer there are many flights and the aviocompanies are coming with big planes often ;)
