3 Jan 2009 : 3 flights to BRU have been diverted
SOF-BRU, FB407 (ETA 10h15) : diverted
TUN-BRU, TU788 (ETA 10h30) : diverted
MIR-BRU, TU8432 (ETA 11h10) : diverted
There are also quite some flights delayed today - much more then normal.
Is there perhaps fog around BRU ?

On previous situations, the CBB "diverted" to AMS as it was running late ( ). As such, the flowers made the market in time.

That could also be a good explanation, if you see there on time record744rules wrote:On previous situations, the CBB "diverted" to AMS as it was running late ( ). As such, the flowers made the market in time.

Re: 3 Jan 2009 : 3 flights to BRU have been diverted
Hello
Can someone confirm if it's possible that I've seen a B757-200Wgl from Open Skies (G-BPEK?) around 14hrs, I expect it landed some 8min later than I saw it at Brussels.
It was still flying aprox. 8000-10 000ft so I wasn't really able to confirm as I saw it in a 'flash'.
Best regards, Yannick

Yes, that is possible. They come for maintenance to Sabena Technics every 2 weeks, arriving on saturday and departing on sunday.Bruspotter wrote:Can someone confirm if it's possible that I've seen a B757-200Wgl from Open Skies (G-BPEK?) around 14hrs, I expect it landed some 8min later than I saw it at Brussels.

Not this time. It was due to fog.
The crew wasn't cat3 and it was cat3 weather
And yes openskies visit BRU, to be more exact Sabena technics.
The plane arrived @ around 14H ish so it's queit posseble you have seen it.
They arrive on sat and depart sun, like andries has mentioned.
The leg bru, paris. Is the acceptence flight for etops
Re: 3 Jan 2009 : 3 flights to BRU have been diverted
Just out of interest (and off topic) How does this work? Because as far as I know Paris is rather close to BRU, so how can it be an acceptance flight for ETOPS? Should the acceptance flight be longer? Like 90/120/180 minutes? Or is this not important at all?The leg bru, paris. Is the acceptance flight for etops

Don't pin me down on this i'm not 100% sure.
The length of the flight doesn't matter.
It's just theire to check all systems work fine and no errors where made by maitenance.
We also have to do an engine run-up on the end of the A check to make sure the engines work fine.
All and all ETOPS is alot of extra work on the maintenace side. Theire is alot that woudn't ground a "normal" plane, but grounds an ETOPS plane.
