I seem to recall reading somewhere that SU will take 7 of the LX A330s (-200 versions) when their new lot of 333s arrive...

This A/C started his career at Sabena as OO-SFU , maybe it will receive again an OO- registration

Check out the Swiss fleet, they have 2 former Sabena A332 HB-IQQ and HB-IQR. These are the only 2 A332's who didn't find a new operator yet, almost all other A332's are going to Aeroflot.

It looks like LX had a few irregularities in its A332 fleet due to lack of crew.
This resulted in the wet-leasing of an AC A333.

In details:
IQR was originaly planed to go to LH and in July it was prepared by changing the paint from LX livery to Star Alliance with LH engines and was in service with LX from NOV 06 bis JUL08 and now again since AUG. It even had already the LH stickers but at some point LH decided not to take it and LX thought it would be nice to have an LX long haul plane with Star Alliance livery so they took HB-IQQ out of service and brought HB-IQR back instead. Yes both HB-IQQ/R are ex SN / LH planes and still feature SN interior. BTW: what's happening with HB-IQQ it's already quite a while sitting next to the maintanace hangars at ZRH?

Not just that. If i'm informed correctly, IQQ was scheduled for a heavy maintenance check, which is why this change of mind on LH's part came in quite handy for LX So they could park IQR and just put IQQ back in service instead of paying for a heavy maintenance check and being one aircraft short.

Its just a matter of the leasing rate. IQQ is cheaper in the leasing rate than IQR, but it took LX a while to realize that. I dont know what will happen whit IQR but for sure some maintenance need to be done before IQR can go back into service. BTW, just read in the AERO magazine Aeroflot will take seven A330-200 which are in service at LX at the moment
As of today the Airbus A330 (HB-IQQ) is back again in service, it went to BOM. I guess this means that (HB-IQR) the Star Alliance plane was taken out of service?

Also due too the iregularities in the long haul operations it looks like LX took the Airbus A330 (HB-IQR) back into the fleet. It looks like (HB-IQA) is out from the D check and should be put into service again in the next couple of days.

As of today LX operates it's ZRH-YUL flight again with their own equipment. Due to crew shortage this flight was operated since the end of october with an A333 from AC on a wetlease basis. From tomorow the ZRH-DXB/MCT flight will be upgraded to A343 and as of the begining of January the LX long haul fleet will operate again at full capacity one ZRH-TLV will go double daily A332

I can't confirm but one of these posters said that he read in Aero Magazine that SU is taking 7 of the 11 ex-LX aircraft. That means that there are 4 more to be allocated.
IQQ and IQR are ex-Sabena aircaft with Sabena interiors.
Could be interesting for SN...

Especially since, with a Sabena interior and Star Alliance colours, it would not need repainting or refurbishing!
