Has there been 1 action by the Sea Kings that could be labeled "combat action" ?

Negative,

They have always been configurated as a SAR heli and never left for a combat mission. Neither will the 4 new ordered NHI NH-90 NFH helicopters for the 40th squadron.

I did not look into the specifications of the old Sea Kings and their successors. But did they not have a function for anti submarine warfare as well, such as search + carrying/dropping sonar and torpedos?

allow me to change my question: the Sea Kings were delivered for sea rescue operations, but would they have been (easely) adoptable for warfare activity? ( as most Sea Kings had been made )
And what with their successors? Only sea rescue and nothing else (possible ) ?

The RS01 landed at 12:46 at Brussels. Some photos can be seen here http://www.flightlevel.be/081217_seakin ... ussel.html

Hello

I was planning to photograph the formation flight planned to fly over the coast line. But due to 'dens' traffic at EBOS (for that ONE TIME in a year it is) they where not granted clearance to cross the axis of the Runway where they usually do to join the coastline so we could photograph them from where I stood. Instead they joined the coast only 1km further from where I stood so I'm left with (almost) nothing. The only I have is a crappy picture of the formation flight with backlit and the return of RS-05 to Koksijde. (the other seaking with the Alouette III returned over land :( ).

I can't stop thinking how nice the pictures would have been with the nice weather as it was in Ostend, if they would have passed in formation over the coastline.

A word of thank to the flightcrew of RS-05 who seems to have done special manouvres just to make sure passing over us as they saw us on the beach. Thanks!

Best regards, Yannick ;)
