new DSLR camera

Post by Liertrainspotter »

Hello everyone

I post this subject on this forum because i know that everyone of you have good stuff to spot planes.
I'm a trainspotter and i have got a Nikon D60. But i was not very pleased with it, it was a terrible model, i have sold him sunday because i was so depressed of it.

Mayby it's too because i haven't enough experiance with it.

But i'm looking for a new DSLR now.

I tought at the Pentax K200D or 20D(professional model).
or else the Canon Eos 400D, but is see the 1000D is much cheaper, anyone any experciance with the 1000D?

or mayby i buy a good set with lenses and body on 2dehands.be, i saw a 350D with 2 lenses and battery grip for €750.

Anyone who can helps me to choose a good camera this time?

thanks a lot

Good day,

first of all, I would be very carefull to buy a digital device second hand. Yes, you could ask to make a test. But some problems occure just after some time.
I bought a long time ago my analogue reflex camera - Yashica- second hand and up to now it still gives much better pictures than my compact digital camera of 8 Mpix.
Due to heavy travelling some small defects occured, some screws fell out, the lenses got loose a bit. But all was repaired for a small amount of money.
Digital is another world. If it doesn't work anymore, the shop answers " We have to send it away, you must pay now already and it is possible that it will not be repaired or that the repair cost is higher than a new camera"
So, go for a new camera.
Maybe you can have some support on this site:
http://www.fotocentraal.nl
There is a review section.
Be carefull with the extra costs of lenses and memory cards.
And those digital reflex camera's eat batteries like cookies.

Strange option:
you could also go for an second hand Hasselblad with a digital back. But its is the wrong time of the year to buy one because many students buy them now at the start of the school year. There is a chance to pick up some at lower prices end of January when some students will have failed completely at their mid term examinations and have decided to leave the study in publicity, marketing, graphic designer,...

Id suggest Canon. A better platform.

If ur an early learner then the 400D should suffice, but be warned tht the 18-55 kit lens is nothing much of its worth. So you may have to invest in lens.

If you are a good one at photography, id suggest the 50D. Amazing.

And if no budgetary constraints, you should settle for a 5D Mark II due to be in the market soon.
Aum Sweet Aum.
