Ryanair Flight Shedule change: ¿Legal? and ¿HILARIOUS?

Post by eldibuk »

Today I received a notification that my flight in Frebruary has undergone some flight shedule changes and Ryanair asks me to choose the following options:

- Accept flight changes
- Accept flight credit to use in other booking and cancel this one
- Get my money back

I wouldn't think anything weird untill I saw the flightchange they are proposing me:
This was my original booking:

06/02 FRIDAY VLC 1240- CRL 1500
08/02 SUNDAY CRL 0920- VLC 1130

The new booking after the flight schedule change would be (you will see how ridiculous this is  ) :

07/02 SATURDAY CRL 1025- VLC 1235
07/02 SATURDAY VLC 1300 - CRL 1520

If you didn't get yet why this looks ridiculous, just look at the outgoing flight. I was supposed to go from VLC to BRU and they change is first BRU VLC and second it is on the same day. I guess I would have to spend the 30 minutes for the turnaround in the airport.

I don't understand how they can propose me this flight change. I have never seen such a stupidity. Second of all I don't know if this is legal. Shouldn't they find a new solution for me to go first from VLC to BRU and to come back becuase it just makes no sense they changed the order of the destination like that.

And to all of you who like Ryanair, honestly i hope you see that this is outragious! I have accepted the conditions at the booking, so I know what I get but I don't think that anybody would say that this is normal.

Does anybody know what I could do to at least get a DESCENT flight schedule change?

I'm surprised you've got ticket because they no longer sell anything to Valencia... I thought the fligths were cancelled... but it seems from your schedule that it is a masquerade to avoid to say it is a cancellation.

The hub at VLC will close, but all flights to VLC from other hubs (CRL for ex.) will still operate.

Obviously the OP means CRL iso. BRU.

You can allways ask your money back and fly with Vueling from Brussels Airport to Valencia.

You are totally right.

I know I still have the Vueling option and honestly I love flying with Vueling. It is nothing compared to Ryanair and shows that Low Cost doesn't mean "I don't care about the costumer". But ofcourse if you get the option to pay 20€ instead of 100€ my choice is easily made.

But probably I will ask for the refund and fly with Vueling.

If an airline cancels your flight more than 2 weeks beforehand then they are only obliged to refund you.
Ryanair are in this case fulfilling this obligation by offering a refund.

take the refund and choose for the better competition.
And be happy you don't have to fly Ryanair. And smile during the flight that you can afford it.
Just see it as good luck.
