Starting next year LH will offer direct flights from MXP. These flights will be operated by Air Dolomiti with A319s (acquirred by LH for its subsidiary)
First destinations: BCN and CDG as from February 2009
Next: BRU, BUD, OTP and MAD as from March 2009
Later: LHR and LIS as from late March 2009
I was just wondering how this will affect flights by other Star Alliance members?
The fligths to BRU will be in direct competition with SN (as we all know partly LH-owned)
The fligths to LIS will be in direct competition with TP!
I do appreciate that within Star Alliance or other alliances there are routes that are duplicated but it seems strange to launch flights in direct competition with a partner airline!
Any thoughts?

Whoever said the Air Dolomiti flights between MXP and BRU will not be code-shared with SN?
