Hewa Bora 767 supposed to leave BRU after 14 months storage
I've just saw something interesting in luchtzak's spotters database:
9Q-CJD, HBA's 767-200ER, is planned to leave Brussels this morning - back to Kinshasa.
All carriers from the D.R. Congo are banned in the European Union since 24/07/2008.

To what I've seen today, the HBA didn't leave after all... unless I missed it when I was in my car driving from one runway to the other... I was taking pics on takeoff runway 20 from 08:00 till 13:30, but no Hewa Bora.

Indeed at the end the flight was cancelled, but a new try is foreseen on August 18, same hours.

And what about the SN BAe146s that were supposed to leave to FIH months ago?

This is Congo headline news !
AirDC project is reportedly dead. But no one has the g*** to concede it at SN Holding.
It already sucked 3 millions Euros without
having a single aircraft taking off. Put this in parallel with all
the savings SN is asking to its employees ! And this project was
only made to satisfy a handful of SN's top managers who thought they'd
be more clever than anyone else. Let's hope Lufthansa will soon wipe
all the useless "I know everything" people with a "manager-wash".
Back to AirDC, Mauritius CAA doesn't want to hear from Congo anymore.
The Congolese CAA feel "humiliated" by everything that was
asked/demanded by the Belgians and Mauritius. (still follow ?)
And now you can add that there is a very bad atmosphere between
HBA and SN. HBA has its 767 again (depsite some troubles coming from ??)
and all they want is to operate to Belgium as soon as possible.
Until there the 767 will fly to Lubumbashi and Johannesburg (=planning)
As an HBA friend told me: "we don't want that crap of 146".
And believe it or not HBA is profitable WITHOUT SN.
Also now... RAK is courting Mr.Kabila ! This has to be taken into account.
And they won't come with BAe146 "planes".

If HBA really wanted to get out of the Black List they'd already be flying again on the FIH-BRU route. Obviously they don't know how, or they don't want to make the efforts required.
Re: Hewa Bora 767 supposed to leave BRU after 14 months storage
I hope that flying joke of an airline will never ever be allowed at BRU again. Delays, cancellations and weekly fights since all they do is closing their office and let their pax find out themselves what to do in case of yet another problem.apu-on wrote:This is Congo headline news !

Maybe SN can convert the name to PanAfrican Airways and establish another shared hub (SN and PanAf) in a civilized African country to start operating flights to secondary airports in Africa, accept for Congo off course.
