Major www.luchtzak.be problems, database & backup corrupted

Dear,

because of a major database failure on www.luchtzak.be I tried to use the backup database but that failed too!

The only usefull database I could recover was from last year, so if you registered this year. Please register again.

In the coming days I will work on the press releases/official news section if I have the time to do so.

There is indeed an error with the avatars, if you would like to bring back your avatar I suggest this:

http://www.google.com
enter site:www.luchtzak.be xx where xx is your nickname

normally a few topics where you posted come up first then press cache (below every link there is a link towards the google cache), right-click and copy file to your local pc then re-upload your avatar again.

I could bring back about 22.000 topics, 187.000 posts and 17.000 registered members.

latest news articles
topics, posts and members of 2008

Best solution..... try to restore on another machine and see the results.
Backup can be completed but corrupted.

I just returned from New Zealand and was astounded to find Luchtzak in collapse, wow!

Backup backup backup, I feel for you Bart this could have been a far worse scenario, as bad as it is you were able to recover the majority of your data.

I know recovery is a slow tedious and frustrating process and you are to be commended on your tireless efforts to rebuild and restore precious data.

Hopefully you are able to attain a full restore.

I have been able to expierience corrupted backups firsthand, and I know it's hell. Double backups from now on (and triple verified )
Think of all the endless discussions on the fleet renewal of Brussels Airlines. They can start from scratch again
