Frankfurt Airport Winter Timetable 2007/08

Frankfurt Airport Winter Timetable 2007/08: Almost 4,500 Passenger and Cargo Flights per Week – More Intercontinental, Fewer Domestic
Global Network: FRA Served by 122 Passenger Carriers Flying to 281 Destinations in 108 Countries

23.10.2007

Frankfurt Airport's Winter Timetable 2007/08, which goes into effect on Sunday, October 28, will feature 4,220 passenger and 255 cargo flights per week. Airfreight traffic will grow by 4.7 percent compared to the previous winter schedule, while the number of passenger flights will slip slightly by 0.2 percent.

With 920 departures per week, intercontinental flights will increase strongly by 6.7 percent. In contrast, domestic connections will drop by 8.2 percent to 665 departures per week. European traffic will remain virtually unchanged at 2,635 flights per week.

New offerings for the Frankfurt Airport (FRA) Winter Timetable 2007/08 include Lufthansa's six weekly flights to Orlando, Florida, as well as its thrice weekly connection to Karachi and Lahore in Pakistan. Futhermore, Lufthansa will begin flying five times per week from FRA to the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires. Covering a distance of 11,500 kilometers and lasting 13.5 hours, this will be the longest nonstop flight in Lufthansa's route network.

In December, United Airlines will commence daily flights to Los Angeles, while Brazil's TAM will fly every day from FRA to Sao Paulo, Brazil.

European traffic will be augmented by Lufthansa's three daily flights to Bordeaux, France, as well as its daily connection to Wroclaw (Breslau) in southwestern Poland.

The noticeable reduction in domestic traffic for FRA's coming winter schedule can be attributed, above all, to the cancellation of the Frankfurt/Cologne-Bonn route which until now has has been served by four Lufthansa flights per day. Because of the diminishing capacity utilization of flights on this "hopper" route of less than 200 kilometers from FRA, passengers in the future can use the high-speed ICE (InterCityExpress) trains operating from the airport's Long-distance Train Station to Bonn and Cologne – just as fast as flying on this route, and with convenient hourly trains available during the daytime.

In passenger traffic, FRA's Winter Timetable 2007/08 will offer a choice of 122 scheduled passenger carriers linking FRA with 281 destinations in 108 countries. In addition, 32 airlines will be operating freighters to 89 destinations in 45 countries.

Interesting info ...
I wonder which type of a/c they use for the EZE route.

Concerning the fast speed train connection with Koln, BRU could have put that in place also (long time since I suggested that)

Well, for the moment the ICE train Brussels-Frankfurt airport still takes about 3hrs, and you still have to check-in in FRA, so you have to be 2hrs in advance in FRA. Whilst with a LH flight out of BRU you are checked-in (so shorter transit time in FRA) and the flight itself only takes about an hour.

I think you got me wrong EBAW_flyer

I was speaking about the Koln -FRA link, comparable in distance to the Koln-BRU link.

But true, the high speed train from Koln to Brussels does not stop at BRU ... yet ?

For the EZE route we will use the B747-400
