Air India announce Munich as Euro hub

Post by website-info »

Air India to Open European hub in Munich

Air India hopes to set up its first overseas hub in Munich next year.
All US and Canadabound Air India flights will stop at this hub for
passengers to switch planes to reach the destination of choice. Air
India’s move follows Jet Airways’ development of a hub at Brussels for
its US expansion. Munich Airport handled 30.76 million passengers last
year and was named the best airport in Europe and the third best
worldwide after Singapore Changi Airport and Hong Kong International
Airport.

AI plans to operate eight flights to the hub from different Indian
cities daily. While its domestic operations (formerly Indian Airlines)
will feed the national hubs, the international flights will again act as
spokes to the European hub. While the North American leg will be
serviced by its own flights, the Europe leg will be served by partner
airlines.

Another big improvement for the *alliance, they will be able to offer many good connections from European cities via Munich to India with this big number of flights to India from MUC which will probably all arrive and leave around the same time

You really should post a link to the website that you copied it from.

Nothing official yet on Air India joining *Alliance...although I would agree that making MUC the European hub would be a logical step towards that move
